some kick-arse songs: theme song to cex
and now the infants are playing mozart for their parents
goodwillsidis
nobody's business
first for wounds
get in yr squads
.... all of OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN is good

His production is tight as hell.... I don't care much for his lyrics though.

I hope he strays away from the rap also... he's just not a good rapper. HE is an AWESOME beat maker and melody shaker. He is the craziest live IDM artist.

cex is tight...and he's only 19 or 20 i think. at one point i was on his email list and he would send out these funny updates- kid's got a sharp whip.
a friend said he was rediculous live.
i've been suprised he's not mentioned more on the posts. i love his first album.

yea, cex puts on crazy live shows. he's a really cool guy though, and cex music does have it's place somewhere in the music scene.

I like his hiphiop stuff better than his techno stuff, most of which is knid of....hollow sounding, I think
he's a wicked bloke though
emailed him a couple of times
really seems to have his head on straight
the flashbulb hates him though hehe

He goes on about performing and how boring shows are when you just stand there and play the computer
but....
DJs pretty much just stand there and spin vinyl....
you don't really look at the artist/DJ most of the time
if yuo wanna have fun you should be ni the crowd dancing

i love all the cex tunes - but def prefer the instrumental tunes , being ridden is also coming out with as a instrumental cd so the choice is there . i'll probably get both . live cex used to totally different to cex on wax, but the line between the two is blurring now . he should do whatever makes him happy (*fingers crossed that instrumental tunes are part of it)*

"stamina" is a collaboration between cex and vsnares. the vsnares album version is instrumental; the cex album versions are remixed (different music), and the vocal version of 'being ridden' obviously contains the vocals of which you speak.
but no, he's not just rapping over a venetian snares tune. ;)

i think he's happier doing what he doesn't do best. maybe he could have got some analog gear, midi controllers etc. in the picture if he wanted more of a challenge when performing live. i saw one of his more recent shows and i had fun while it was going on but none of the tracks really clicked in my mind or begged for repeat listens. i told him to make more glitchy stuff after the show. he just gave me the same really dumb excuses you've already heard and told me his later singles would have instrumental versions on them. hurrah.

it's natural for people to prefer an artist's different styles, different eras, but it's best to let artists do what they want to do... it'd sound really forced if an artist made more so-and-so music just to satisfy their fans. if they want to try polka or salsa i say let them fall on their nose, swallow their pride, and come at us with something we might like even better.
