Mouse on Mars is an absolute, complete and utter rip off of Richard's playing style on Melodies From Mars. He even blantantly uses the very name of the album!!! The music is actually pretty cool but is like Melodies From Mars Light. I seriously think Richard should look into suing this guy for the profits from his work because it's really Richard's and not his. |

Sorry artofwar, but I've heard Mouse on Mars on the local college station and it annoys me that they and many other contemporary electronic artists "borrow" liberally from RDJ. Like I said though, it does sound like pretty cool stuff but I couldn't tell you any particular tune. |

songs: future dub tux&damask juju (!!) frosch supersonic fadeout ... i could go on and on - i love their music - they are two german guys from cologne - got an own label www.sonig.com ... and maytag, i personnally don´t really care in the end from whom the music comes - it´s the music man, the music ... :-) |

i don't think mouse on mars is a ripoff of rdj in the least. they have their own hip style that's completely original and much more based in dub and krautrock than richard's stuff. besides, melodies from mars was released in 1995 while mouse on mars was formed in 1993 (people need to do their research before spouting nonsense). personally, autoditacker is my favorite album... |

Melodies from Mars hasn´t even been commersially released, and it wasn´t that long ago since the mp3´s were made available. I find it hard to believe that they´ve been stealing their sound from those tracks.. |

I haven't heard too much of Mouse on Mars. I heard a few of their tracks but it was pretty plain. Although I did download a killer remix of Cibo Matto's "Moonchild" by Mouse on Mars, quite good remix, seeming the original song was waaay too slow and mellow. |

well, mouse on mars would be not the first ones to rip-off aphex... well, by the way read today that richard d. james said in the face interview, after being questioned about what he thinks of radiohead being 'influenced by him' and he said that he had listened to radiohead's kid a and amnesiac and that he had found it 'a bit cheesy'... umm, interesting, isn't it? |

but i listened to mouse on mars, didn't like it much, though, but i had no time to think if they rip-off aphex or not, but i have my opinion on radiohead. i like some songs from kid a, but others are too much like watered-down aphex. and it's interesting, why are the people here so easily agitated/depressed/pissed offed by other opinions, even it's aphex opinion himself - i mean this is an aphex twin messageboard! (i guess this is an internet messageboard malaise?) but anyway, i didn't mean to agitate you, thanks so much, and if you were hurt, i'm very sorry. |
