Anyone know this "rockumentry" on The Bands last concert as
filmed by Martin Scorsese....... fucking amazing rock n roll
and jamming and interviews with old-skool rockers who did
nothing but stay on the road for 16 years. Even the way they
light their cigarettes is amazing to watch. Van Morrison,
who´s dodgy old fuck at the best of times, is bloody
energetic as fuck on this gig..... ok its rock n roll but
the vibe is incredable and undeniable and i´ve only ever
seen this in the age of electronica at Rephlex gigs.....
bring on ATP!

Is that the one that inspired 'This Is Spinal Tap'?

never heard that but they are so dissimilar i doubt it. The
last waltz was all filmed at one location. Apparently they
played live for 7 hours just jamming and jamming till they
got exhausted. Scorsese seems coked up to his eyeballs
too..... The band themselves are real beatniks but aren´t
all arty up-their-own-ass like the Doors or something. The
only song i recognised from them when i watched this was
"Take a load off Annie"... classic mid-wets 70´s
shite!...cool
