Now, some of you may disagree with me and I'm sure some of you will, classical music is the backbone of all music. It is intelligently composed and has lasted through the ages longer than any other music genre. Although some genres haven't had a chance to last long. Look at the music from the 50's and 80's. Could you ever imagine them lasting the way classical music has? God I hope not, at least the 80's. So I am curious as to what you think the future holds for IDM, as well as what your favorite classical music composer is.

you could argue that it didnt last tho.... some of it was rediscovered. loads of Bach's works were 'lost' for years and years and years, until mendelssohn found them and got them performed.
but yes, classical music could be the backbone, but i think jazz has made a bigger impact on my musical ability.

I agree that Jazz has had a huge impact on music, although it has been around for a long time, not near as long as classical music. And people are still making classical music where as many other previous genres are dying out. Jazz however could be just as revolutionary as classical.
