yeah, so I bought this yesterday... and I was just a bit
happy as I've wanted it for months... anyways, if you don't
know, this is the soundtrack Peter Gabriel did for the movie
The Rabbit-Proof Fence... Passion, his other soundtrack, is
like my favorite album of all time, and so when I heard
about this new soundtrack I was just a bit excited... Peter
Gabriel, imo, has such an amazing ability to create these
aural pictures in music, and then infuse them with such
emotion... it's like you get the visual from the music, but
also the emotions being felt... amazing stuff... anyways, I
bought this and must admit I'm kind of dissappointed...
don't get me wrong, there are moments of brilliance on
here... perfect tracks which satisfy my desire for this type
of music from PEter Gabriel... however, in the last half of
the cd, Gabriel uses parts from his newest cd Up... for
example, the Blind Boys of Alabama vocal part from the song
Sky Blue on Up is used numerous times... it's still good,
but kind of dissappointing that he just re-used it here...
or re-used it on Up, depending on which came first...

so yeah, maybe no one cares at all... but if anyone here
actually likes Passion, I suggest you get this one... it's
definitely a good one... but like I said, dissappointing for
a couple reasons...

oh yeah, and has anyone seen the movie? I want to see it
now, to see how the music fits in...

but actually I think this album came before Up, so I should
be dissappointed with Up... it's just I heard Up first...

ah well, it's good... I haven't listened to it enough to
really say I guess...

I saw the movie last week - really enjoyed it and I didn't
realise the soundtrack was by Gabriel until the credits
started to roll... I was thinking while I was watching that
soundtrack was really good - I thought it might have been
Vangelis or someone as it reminded me of the sountrack on
"Mutiny on the bounty" (by Vangelis)

ANyway, bloody excellent film and those young untrained
actresses were superb..

I'm not sure if it's here yet... but it should be coming
here, as I saw a poster in the theatre... I'd really like to
see it...
