Vsnares - sound quality

i finally took the time to sit back and listen to winter in
the belly of a snake on kickass headphones, and it blew me
away how extremely good the music sounds. the production is
amazing, you can really feel the sound textures.

its sound quality meets autechre standards, which imo, is
the highest.

listen to this album on good headphones, you'll know what i
mean.

Sound quality is great but he could have taken a little more
time tweaking his patches or adding effects or something.
Sounds a little dry and cold to me. Maybe that's what he
wanted; it's a pretty dark album.

this very dryness and the coldness makes it for me

i really dont like Vsnares... seems so pretentious and
frantic. maybe i just haven't heard enough of him.

although there's a sample of Garrison Keillor in 'winter in
the belly of a snake' which never ceases to make me
chuckle... heehe

that album brings him up into the very elite of electronic
music. i don't dig his other stuff, kinda dull methunks, but
this one i listen to really every day now, it is sooo
amazing. especially cashew & fraujager are awsome

For a long time I didn't get the Venetian Snares thing. But
now I do. I guess I took time out from listening to full on
fucked up breaks since Squarepusher and so I probably had a
hard time reading them again or something.

I think his sound starting taking on a gleam and sheen
starting from "Songs about my Cats"..the first VSnares that
made me sit up and take notice...

of course the album is dark and cold, the title basically
screams that.

i like vsnares' material, but witboas is the only album of
his i like entirely from start to finish. it has a more
mature sound imo. all his other stuff has a more 'raw'
sound.

How come everyone like Songs About My Cats so much? I
thouht that album had about 2 good tracks, that's it.
Higgins or 2370894 are much better. Hell, Greg Hates Car
Culture was much better than ...Cats. In fact, I think
pretty much all Snares records are great, except for that
one.

;)
