Island LP by Current 93
Some tracks of this album do reappear instrumental in the
Icelandic movies Children Of Nature and Cold Fever.
Scratchings on the vinyl: 'But Alone Into The Alone Anyway'
and 'I Minningu Alls Og All Ra'
A sheet of lyrics was (is?) available by mail from BM Wound,
the one included with the LP was (of course) without the CD
only tracks.
The spoken text on 'The Dream Of A Shadow Of Smoke' was
taken from Jeremy Taylor's 'The Rule And Exercises Of Holy
Dying' (London, 1656)

Line-up:
David Tibet
HÖH
Björk Gudmundsdóttir [yes, it's Björk...]
Akiko Hada
Thór Eldon
Godkrist
Liz Aster
Bogomil Font
Asa Hlín Svavarsdóttir
Birgir Baldursson
The Venerable 'Chimed Rig'dzin Lama, Rinpoche
Johnny Triumph
Rose McDowall
Joolie Wood
Einar Oern
Tómas M. Tómasson

I believe Bjork sang some background vocals for "Island"
(1991)

"anyone know what Current 93 album would be best to buy
first?"

"Thunder Perfect Mind" is my favourite of their folk style
albums...so I'd get that one first...

Earth Covers Earth is my favourite of theirs - wierd spooky
folk shit, very haunting melodies. Swastikas for Noddy is
good too and in a similar vein.

The Looney Runes EP is pretty sinister and interesting.
Another of my faves. Less acoustic, more synthetic. Thrice
as evil.

That Island albums well worth a listen as well, although it
was about that time that the singer David Tibet started to
experiment with Bhuddism and the sinister edge of Current 93
was getting left as a thing of the past (although the tunes
are definately good, especially Bjork's one)

what current 93 albums is she on?

She pretty much appears on most of Current 93's stuff, not
too sure about recent releases though, I just prefer the
older stuff.

My favourite stuff shes on would be the aforementioned
Swastikas for Noddy, Earth Covers Earth and also the
'Emblems' double album, a compilation of real gems and
rarities.

She's also on a 'Nature and Organization' lp ( a kind of C93
side project) where she does a good version of the Sirens
Song(?) from the Wicker Man film.

Björk also sang backing vocals for Megas - "Loftmynd"
(icelandic folk/rocksinger)...
..if you Björk freaks want to get everything she's
ever done..

i got the thunder perfect mind reissue and yes its worth the
money. but make sure you like current 93 before buying an
album, you should know what your getting into first, all the
albums are expensive so, just make sure before purchasing.
but then again, if you dont like it, you can get all the
money back by selling it.
