seriously... i don't hear markus popp's stuff get talked
about much on here. i think his first 2 albums (diskont &
systemisch) are brilliant, but i am somewhat unfamiliar with
his newer material (process & commers)... so, what's up?

i love oval.. i have 3 cd´s a neighbour gave me.. dunoo how
new or what albums they are but they are really cool. A
uniques approach... chilled but not ambient. the number of
people who´ve asked why i don´t look after my cd´s!

i also love his remix of Big Loada on Warp10.. it has power

i heard a remix of a tortoise track he did, very nice...
mellow, sounded like bells or a xylophone (wouldn't surprise
me, knowing tortoise)... i think someone had told me that
'dok' was a good album.

How much of Oval's influence is in Microstoria (side project
with 1/2 of Mouse on Mars)?

I have the Microstoria "snd" album and like it, but I've
never explored further than that.

sweet

it's fairly 50/50... it's leaning more toward oval's style,
rather than hving beats and stuff like MoM... lithops is
another good MoM side-project... there's a cd on jim
o'rourke's drag city ubsidiary, moikai.

later oval is probably my favorite, there is just layers and
layers of stuff going on in addition to just looped click
rhythms. the first three tracks of ovalcommers are
essential, they go so well together. probably my favorite
album is ovalprocess - tracks 7,9 to try? i actually haven't
gotten into the microstoria stuff so much.
