Ach! I don't know HOW you could put up with these dimwits.

Although... I called a help line once when my net was down
and it turned out I tripped over my phone line and knocked
it out a little...

Ahem... anyway... let's forget that ever happened.

Now- Joy Division- Transmission

After- probably Atmosphere

"I tripped over my phone line and knocked it out a

"

lol ;-)
i imagine they had a good laugh over that at the helpdesk!

I once saw a tv-show about such a helpdesk, and one of those
telephone-people said she once got a call from some guy who
claimed his computers cup-holder didn't work anymore...
after a while it turned out he has been using his cd-rom
tray to hold his plastic coffeecups ;-)

Actually, I never DID get to talk to anyone on there. A
robotic voice came on and told me to press 2 or something if
I wanted to talk to a live rep, so I did, and they made me
wait while they played some elevator piano music (which
actually wasn't too bad, nice melody... could have been Enya
or Kenny G).

And while I was waiting, I saw the cord on the back of my
computer wasn't all the way in... problem solved.

I should have waited for the girl to get on the phone so I
could ask her what the heck that song was. It had ocean
sounds in the background.
