In February 2002, the Pentagon tried to open an Office of
Strategic Influence to spread disinformation at home and
abroad. When this news leaked, Americans were outraged and
the Pentagon told us that they'd changed their minds about
the office. Which was perhaps the office's first piece of
disinformation.
