ok, maybe the title of this post was misleading, but it is stunning to me! i realized today that i have talked WAY too much crap on some of autechre's releases, and i would like to clear the air. i have been wrong in my trash talking. first, confield: i have stated that i dont like this album for the most part and that i dislike most of the material. this is not true... i relaized today that i dislike only 2 of the 9 tracks. so as a whole, i DO really enjoy confield. second, gantz graf: i said that i dont like anything abou tthis ep, i was also wrong... i DO like the third track "cap.iv" alot. and third, ep7: i have said in the past that i thought this was a filler release... once again i was wrong. i dislike only 3 of the 11 tracks. all this being said, i would like to apologize to autechre (not that theyll ever read this) for being so harsh in my critique of their work. i know how it feels to be slagged for your art, and i am sorry that i have disrespected your efforts. that being said, i will run out tomorrow and get ep7, because it really does kick some booty. oh, btw.... just got "cichlisuite" cdep, VERY nice.

you are allowed to dislike what ever you choose..but yes slamming entire albums based on disliking one or two tracks IS harsh

hahahaha no what im saying is that i never realised that i liked that much of them because i never really gave them a chance. i just kind of wrote them off as poop. ep7 i understand why i did it... i thought it was like "diet lp5". not quite as good as the original. gantz graf, well, erm.... moving right along, confield i just initially couldnt get past what seemed like a prevailing theme of malice or violence i sensed from them. i guess it is still kind of there on a few tracks, but i dont see it as completely monstrous as i did before. it just sounds more sleepy to me now than anything.

WOW! thats awesome that you've been able to discover twin! i remember the first time i heard icbyd, i had never heard anything like it before... ah, those were the days! if you are digging that, i think the next step might be rdj album, which is my absolute favorite of all his works. or windowlicker might be a nice little treat to get into. the third track on that is one of my favs, too. i'm so very happy for you, that's excellent! his music is so exceptional!

that just seems so strange to me, no offense. i got into twin when icbyd first came out. ive loved him ever since. it took me a long time to get into autechre. i STILL have reservations about some of their work. it just semms like people are usually the other way around: they get real into twin, and then that allows them to appreciate something a little harder to swallow, like autechre. im curious as to what it is exactly you dont like, or what gives you problems with rdj's stuff.
