Anything like Sigur Ros or RadioHead because I love them.
Or are they more like punk?

Mogwai are responsible for the last levis song - you know
the commercial 'You and me on a highway vs the angry bulls'

*hands tonepusher a late pass*

str_ph: yea that's "summer" from their 1996 cd of early
singles and b-sides, ten rapid.

And nobody have ever heard about don caballero or explosions
in the sky. You should try.

dunno where the gybe! and mogwai comparison took
place....but mogwai is quite nice

rock action is my favorite so far

as for explosions in the sky, im really into what i heard. i
heard "those who tell the truth shall die, those who tell
the truth shall live forever"....fucking great. especially
the last track

yea the GYBE! comparison is really weak; it's like comparing
nirvana to guns n roses.

mogwai did a cover of G&R november rain - isn't it ?

who's nirvana and who's G&R in that story ?

Have you heard that mogwai ep where they did covers of
sabbath songs ("three fat scratches of the rock arse" or
something it was called)? i got this wicked live set they
did after that where this audience member was screaming
"PLAY SOME FUCKING SABBATH!" in between songs...

their earlier stuff is better (ten rapid young team etc.)
imo though

not at all; they're fans of each others music, it's just a
lazy comparison (it's better just to say "for fans of
godspeed..")

'gwai covered "don't cry" for a peel session; they once
toyed with an idea for an EP of gnr covers.

they've only covered one sabbath song tho: "sweet leaf" for
a compilation.

and god help you if you think gnr is better than nirvana

cause i've got a baseball bat for just such ocassions...

not too keen on the only other mogwai cover i heard -
spacemen3's "Honey"... But thats not saying much cos i
really love the original.

What was that ep called then titsworth? I saw it in my
record shop years ago and i was in two minds to get it but i
didn't. Wouldn't mind tracking it down now justfor the black
sabbath cover.

ok to like"

a tip from Mogwai:

record your drums on tape first, 'cause drums sound better
on tape. record everything digitally, but record your drums
on tape, then record the tape in digitally. it just sounds
better, we do it on all our records.

i have ALMOST every mogwai release (with the exception of
one EP i believe) and i dunno how ya'll can pick a
favourite, they all have so many jewels!!

seeing them LIVE last summer was so mind blowing.....and ear
splitting (they are even more incredible live) i can hardly
wait till they tour again.

i was right up front and was able to get stuarts guitar pick
(it was WELL used to say the least) ! i recommend seeing
them in smaller venues, so you can get the full SOUND blast.
