heres a partial list of other improvements which will hopefully finally squash the haters as they are clearly geared towards taking on the majors of the software game.
64 FX tracks New "Piano Roll" playlist style, showing the accurate pattern lengths
Patterns can start at any time (not aligned to bars anymore)
Now supports custom grid length for each individual pattern
New Live Mode for live performances and quick tests New Cut & Paint tools are available in the Playlist and Piano Roll windows
The Fruityslicer now autoslices all beats without the need for BeatSlicer
Usable as DXi client (usable in Sonar) Dashboard (allows you to design & draw your own internal & midi controllers)
Boobass (realistic Fender Bass simulator) Wave Traveller (tool that allows you to 'travel' through wave files using a
spline based path) Updated Beepmap Support for multiout VSTi plugins (generators only)

He he- I was about to say the same thing- cue people making flp files with 10mb wavs in them where only tiny extracts are used :)
Weaklingchild: Pro Tools is pretty expensive (apart from that limited free version you can get for the PC). Besides, Floops is good for IDM.

That's what I do, but it disrupts the creative process...plus, when you make a wav file from a flp file, and then insert it into a track, the quality has deterioated, plus it's quieter, and fucks up all the levels--but that's OK just to preview.

64 FX tracks
Goody!
Patterns can start at any time (not aligned to bars anymore)
I hope there's a "snap to bar" mode so we can do it old style if we like?
New Live Mode for live performances and quick tests
Any chance of some Ableton Live style assigning of keys to samples etc.?
The Fruityslicer now autoslices all beats without the need
for BeatSlicer
Can we still do it manually if we like/the slices are innacurate?
Dashboard (allows you to design & draw your own internal &
midi controllers)
Yay- now I can make on screen front ends to match my card overlays on my Phat boy!
Boobass (realistic Fender Bass simulator)
That'll be nice- better than VB-1 I hope...
Finally... Any chance of there being a boxed copy you can buy whereby they'll mail you CDs of all future versions (like lifetime upgrade on online registered copy)?

wow... Things have changed in the 2 years I've been away from the program. It looks like SO much more functionality has been added. But seriouly people, it's a GUI mess.
Cubase SX is where it's at!
Not bashing FL at all. I know plenty o folk who use it and make kickin tracks.
I just like SX better.

Damn, it don't matter to me if it has more FX slots, since if I use 6 on one channel, then a) I can't have more than one channel per FLP file, and b) my computer is liable to turn my polished loop into a glitchy, horrendous piece of noise. :( Oh woe is me, oh woe!

What I'm forced to do is to construct the track in the CoolEdit Pro sequencer, and make flp files consisting of one channel--it REALLY inhibits the flow of the creative juices: it ends up being complicated and laborious--oh bring me the joys of good RAM!! 64MB is lamentable! Plus, since it's so time-consuming, I end up being less inventive than I wish, which really pisses me off :(

I know what you mean- having to render each channel as a seperate wav then mix all of them together...
Even on really powerful PCs you'd still need to do this with 20 instances of Absynth, etc. ;)

an example of how shit my PC is--I can barely handle ONE Absynth channel (and that's with NO FX)...that's one of the reasons I use soundfonts a lot...most of them aren't too large, and I can add a few FX before my CPU starts throwing tantrums. :D Softsynths are mostly a no-no, which is a shame, cos I got some great ones too :(
