..my harddrive died on me. All 60GBs of it, gone. Two folders with 700 MP3s each, plus I had started on a third folder.
And no, I didn't have any back-ups. I also learned my lesson now. Oh well, I could be sitting in a shuttlecraft, breaking up at 200,000ft, while going at 18 times the speed of sound.

I don't back up my mp3s, but I do most everything else.
There are a lot of people making a big fuss how HD just aren't as reliable as they used to be, and as they should be.
sorry about that m8, but you did find your own perspective about your problems compared to others....

Never get an IBM drive! My 60GXP only lasted 14 months. My old 8GB piece of shit drive lasted 4 years. Seems drives ARE getting worse. IBMs are notorious after the 75GXP scandal.
FU IBM!

yeah, even Maxtor drives have been struggling
they are building the quality out of HDs to get the prices down....not a good idea in my book

With an awful metallic noise. I rebooted and it was gone. Now BIOS can't find it anymore.

I ordered a 120GB Seagate Barracuda V (8MB cache special edition). I think I'll start backing things up too. Sounds so much easier than trying to find all the good pr0n again.
