Isn't the snow wonderful? I woke up this morning and when I
opened my curtains I witnessed a scene so beautiful it
almost made me cry. My whole town is covered in a blanket of
gorgeous snow. As I walked to get the bus to work everyone
was greeting their fellow man and the world seemed like a
much friendlier and nicer place. It's just a shame that it
didn't happen on Christmas day. I'm still dreaming of a
white christmas.

You're right morton.

ps - don't forget at times like these to leave a little
bread out for the birdies. The little robins and starlings
do appreciate it. I've spent many an hour watching the
little birdies enjoying the feast I prepared them.

I like snow, I prefer the cold to it being uncomfortabley
warm. I find that I get lethargic, can't concentrate and
work slowly when it's warm. Cold is the ideal weather for
"brain work" in my book.

nice and friendly people like you. You
know,
every comment you make makes me smile
really, you're too good bill :)

Snow helps me stay alert as well ceri. There's many a time
I'm outside shovelling snow and I immediately perk up.

you are a reptile sir!

snow is cool, too cold is not cool. this winter has been a
dread since its been less snow and more cold. the only bad
thing in snow is that it gets stuck to your pants and then
ankles get all wet when inside.

The minute I get home I'm gonna run out into my backyard and
make myself a snowman. I remember the fun I used to have as
a kid doing that. Great days. Snow up to the windowsills.
Tin bath in front of the fire. They sold sweets in jars back
then. And you got the broken bits for free. Into the cinema
with a jam jar. Happy days. Maybe those days will come back
again. Yes. I can't wait to get home! I'm going to build the
biggest snowman you've ever seen. I must remember and stop
off at Asda to buy a carrot. Why? For his nose of course!
Cheeky!

i'm exactly like that! I hate warm weather. Cold is so much
better :-)

Yesterday there was thick blanket of snow all over my
hometown... it was beautiful! It would have made Bill Hicks
choke up and shed a few tears for sure :-p

But this morning when i woke up, it had completely melted
away :-( Typical.

the cold is much better than the summer. the snow has all
melted here in hertfordshire today though. all the schools
in the county were closed on friday which meant a lot of
happy kids.

Yes. wouldn't it be great? We could dress him up in a scarf
and a wooly hat and we could call him simon - yes, that's
good -simon the snowman. And we could pretend to have great
adventures with him. Like in that film but only better. He'd
be the best snowman in the world!

Great point flea and I'll go out and listen out for it but a
bit of the subject. We're talking about snow here. You must
have some hilarious childhood anecdotes about snow that you
could regale us with.

I was a full fledged adult when I first encountered full
fledged snow in the States...snow was okay..lovely and
crunchy..it's the sleet on the roads I hated..un intentional
ice skating without ice skates..pretty much sucks:(..used to
take me half an hour to walk across a 5 minute walk..there
was so much damn road and sleet and so little snow..I would
hop around from patch of snow to patch of snow..to get where
I wanted to get..so yeah the Snow was a saviour:)

You know how snow is only mentioned in christmas singles?
Why is that? I think the subject of snow merits a single on
its own. I plan to write one - I'm going to call it "snowy
heaven"

yeah i love snow, especially when it falls at night...
it reflects all the light from the streetlights and its as
bright as day (well, almost)

....and yeah fresh snow covering everything (especially tree
branches) looks really beautiful...

.....but when its been on the ground for weeks, and near the
streets its stained with dirt and everything, and its frozen
so its just like a think layer of ice... well then it just
gets annoying..

Damn, I read this thread thinking it was about the
reggae/rapper Snow of "Informer" and 12 inches of
Snow
fame.

Oh well - I like the meteorological snow much better anyway.
I live in New Jersey USA and people here always complain
everytime it snows . . . fools.
