OH MY! ANOTHER NEW SONG!

Geonime from Geoworld!! on 2001-09-20 18:36 [#00034654]

Hello boys and girls, 'tis Geonime. I've been busy and
constructed another classic tune for you all! It's called
'Ex News', it's an... err... interesting track with a nice
melody and more wicked drumbeats. The URL? Why! It's
http://www.geonime.fsnet.co.uk!! Go right now!

P.S. the song was described by someone as "a church organ
being played next to a psychopath destroying a kitchen"
whatever that means!

Dave on 2001-09-20 19:04 [#00034667]

Wow! That's excellent!

Tony Semen from California on 2001-09-20 19:19 [#00034684]

Hmm. It's pretty fucked up, that track - but very good.

ron from usa on 2001-09-20 21:37 [#00034755]

you rule, dude

Id Lab from The Untitled Kingdom on 2001-09-20 22:42 [#00034786]

Yes, I like it. I downloaded Muwre too, and that's even
better. I respect your list of links, we share a lot of
musical tastes.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-09-20 23:26 [#00034800]

Ugh...

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-09-20 23:27 [#00034801]

I still think its pretty boring stuff. Anyone can make
music............. especially like this. Doesnt stand out.
Id Lab rocks though..... most DEF!

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-09-20 23:50 [#00034821]

Haven't listened to the song yet, just wanted to know

Phobiazero: Are Geonime and Dave the same person?

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-09-20 23:54 [#00034825]

I would kind of like to know who all Geonime has cloned or
rather faked being? Just curious.

>:D

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 00:11 [#00034836]

What's with all these accusations? Anyway, yes Reflex - I
realise it's not so good, but do you not think it's pretty
decent for someone of my age - making music in Cakewalk on a
crappy computer that crashes all the time? The thing is, my
songs keep advancing... when I can afford some decent
equipment that will make things slightly easier. I'm getting
more into the idea of melody instead of beats. Sampling and
cutting up beats gets very tedious, something which can show
on the songs... the Squarepusher song 'UFOs over
Leytonstone' has a slow, simple repetetive beat yet it's one
of my favourites.

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 00:12 [#00034837]

Also: not everyone can make this music, it's harder than you
probably think.

Afterthought on 2001-09-21 00:13 [#00034839]

please stop geomine...you're making me cry...
cakewalk...crashes...not everyone can make
music...please.....

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 00:19 [#00034841]

Sorry reflex, didn't mean to make you cry.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-09-21 00:33 [#00034855]

What? make me cry?! whered you get that from? Afterthought!
hahah that was fuckin' funny man! cool!

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-09-21 00:34 [#00034858]

Geonime: you know why all the accusations? Because of your
track record before. How can people trust you when we know
what happened in the past? Im not saying anything that its
you being a dick around here or anything. Im just sayin' so
you know thats all. I want to be nice, really.

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 00:42 [#00034867]

For all I know YOU are the one doing the cloning.

Also: all your bashing of my music, send me one of your
songs and let's judge.

Afterthought on 2001-09-21 00:47 [#00034871]

geonime stop complaining, you asked people for their
opinions, and you got it, some good and some bad..what do
you want... everyone to kiss your ass? it's not that great,
stop making excuses...i respect you for welcoming opinions
but it's pointless when you cry like a baby if someone
doesn't like it...

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 00:53 [#00034876]

I'm not crying, at all. I'm glad I got negative feedback, as
it aids the improvement of my music. If all the comments I
got were good I'd become arrogant and just keep making music
identical to my current songs - which are, as reflex pointed
out, boring. I just didn't like the "anyone could make it"
comment - I put in quite a bit of work on my songs. Extra
work is required since I have no proper equipment to work
with and must do it all with the limited resources.
Et-cetera. What do you think of my music, Afterthought?

Afterthought on 2001-09-21 00:56 [#00034878]

you're learning like all of us musicians are.... i'm glad
you realize you have to evolve which is extremely important,
or you'll end up trapped in a genre you'll grow to hate...

Afterthought on 2001-09-21 00:58 [#00034879]

by the way...we all have economics to deal with, you can't
use that as a crutch... good equipment doesn't necessarily
help...after all mo' money mo' problems

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 13:37 [#00035017]

Don't be a fool. If you're going to say that, you might as
well say it about anyone - even aphex twin. Time isn't all I
fucking have, I have ideas, and talent. My skills are
constantly developing... do you think Aphex Twin would have
created anything like Windowlicker in the first few months
of him making music? I fucking rest my case.

Geonime from Geoworld!!! on 2001-09-21 13:48 [#00035019]

Also, reflex, usually I would accept all comments, good or
bad. But it's strange how all the bad comments have come
from one person - you. It's stranger still that we had a big
argument ages ago and you've been extremely bitter ever
since. I'm not exactly going to take your comments
seriously, since it seems all you want to do is discourage
me from making music. All you're doing is encouraging me.
Want you to know that.

tea.pot on 2001-09-21 15:19 [#00035078]

i liked dat song. you done good. keep up the good work.

Archrival from NY on 2001-09-21 16:52 [#00035145]

Its was good. If you only used better sounds the song would
be great (but hey, like you said this was only the start of
your career and I also started with Cakewalk, then Cubase
and now Pro Tools).

Archrival from NY on 2001-09-21 17:00 [#00035159]

...and now im a big STAR!..not.

Geonime on 2001-09-21 23:46 [#00035298]

You've mistaken me for someone who gives a shit. The good
comments outweight the bad ones, and you are an idiot
anyway.

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-21 23:59 [#00035299]

Just forget about it geomine...you sound so needy it's
getting pathetic...do you need to be patted on the head like
a little dog? the only imprtant thing is if you like your
music and enjoy making it...

Geonime on 2001-09-22 00:22 [#00035302]

I just want to argue with refex cos it's enjoyable.

Geonime on 2001-09-22 00:29 [#00035303]

Hey Afterthought, you're the voice of reason. Instead of
sitting around having tedious debates with fuckwits, I'm
going to make a new song. I'm aiming for it to sound like a
cross between Squarepusher's "UFOs over leytonstone" and
Future Sound Of London's "My Kingdom".

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-22 00:37 [#00035311]

good luck, but remember 2 things: 1) those are other peoples
songs and sounds- don't try to imitate them, do something
new with it, and 2) those are old songs, which immediately
puts you in a bad spot... try to push the envelope or
you'll sound like 1996
