for pete's sake, it's a compilation on his label to which he wrote some of the liner notes to. it's not him doing the cover! it's a various artists compilation; the group doing the cover is marie + scratch (as discussed on this board a few weeks ago). static it's ok you didn't know, you're new, but you others.. come on.

i hate to bring up a point of contention (and again pardon my naivete as a result of my inexperience on the list), but if i'm not mistaken Byrne did the production on that song, as well as the last song on the comp

then i stand corrected :) i was going by the previous discussion here and blind assumption. i don't own the cd; all music guide said it was a little pretentious (mostly byrne's fault).

oh i agree, but you have to admire his effort...i really appreciate Byrne's mercurial taste in music and I find it really amazing that Byrne, who was once a pioneer of electronic music, is now paying hommage to current pioneers in the genere

yea i think it's cool too, i love it when well-meaning popular musicians bring cool underground styles to the mainstream, eg: outkast and missy elliott incorporating drum 'n' bass into mainstream hip-hop, radiohead touring w/ groups like clinic and sigur ros, etc.
