the first song is called "pas dev" it's the song of my concern. already I've given it a bit of a makeover since the version that is posted there but the drum sounds are still the same and they bother me. I think I'm getting in a rut as far as my drum sounds go but I don't know what I should do with them. I'm growing as far as melodies go but my drums are just getting a little tired I think. should I try working with more analog drums and not real drum samples?

Make your OWN drum samples!! Forget all about sampling other drums and especially drum loops. 64 good homemade drum hits will keep you busy for a while!

really--my number one tip for frustrated musicians: make your sounds.
It's got nothing to do with software/hardware setups, just the sounds you use and how you used them.

yes I should spend more time designing my sounds but what I'm curious about is what don't you like about the drum sounds in pas dev? I don't like the snare I know that. and the high hats are horrid. this is all post analyzing of my song and I'm just not quite happy with that one.
I'm thinking I want to lean more toward analogy sound with more blippy bonky drums, go back to the kinda standard 808 set. what do you think? I know those are played out but I need to do something.
