Initial views of this album are positive, if somewhat
confused.

This is a very sonic album. The guitar crunch I was
expected from some of their early bootlegs is lacking, but
that isn't bad.

The talent is obviously miles deep, the fills and melodies
are sweet and concise.

Billy Corgan has many voices, prolly 4 distinct and unique
singing patterns, not included screaming. He only uses the
melodic/talking one on this album. I prefer more variety
from him, especially because he has the potential, but that
is more personal.

I bought it with the DVD for $18.99, and I haven't watched
it yet, but looks promising.

This is a B+ album in my mind, maybe it will grow on me
more, or maybe the hype fucked with my head, but it is very
very solid, not a strong recommend, but a recommend none the
less.

package for $15.99

than smashing pumpkins i'd buy it.. but i stopped listening
to SP in '97 or '98

im thinking of buying it, but im not sure im going to like
what ill hear. i thought it was going to be a ROCK album,
with a harder sound.

i'll atleast give it a listen...

But i doubt i'll really like it as much as the smashing
pumpkins. If i buy it, it'll be for nostalgic reasons.

I think the first single is okay... nothing more, nothing
less. And i fear the entire album 'll be like that.

I like it a lot when I don't compare it to the Pumpkins.
They may contain 2 members of the Pumpkins but they are a
completely separate entity. I think the CD is great and
their live show is incredible

maybe...

stranger things have happened :-)

But still... i remember the first time i fell in love with
the smashing pumpkins (seeing "bullet with butterfly wings"
for the first time on tv). Now that was amazing! The
song gave me goosebumps, the video was amesome and...
well... you could just feel that this was an
important song and that this would be the year of the
smashing pumpkins :-) Something was in the air or
something!

Zwan hasn't given me this feeling... so far

the few songs ive heard have been too similar to pumpkins.
it sounds not too different from old pumpkins stuff if you
ask me. i may get it but ill have to hear some more songs.

yeah, just listen to a few more tracks, it really is not a
similar album.

The only album I could see it compared to, is maybe, just
maybe, kinda of like a Machina Lite. But good.

Really, it is sonic and happy, a proud production. Check
out some more tracks, seems with the price @ BestBuy, WITH
the DVD, you can't go wrong.

unless you hate it like i prolly would.. i can't remember
the last rock album i bought. prolly radiohead in 2001 if
they still count.

the songs on this album sound poppy like sp's muzzle. in
fact it reminds me of mellon collie somehow, if only because
the songs are so damn catchy once again :)
the distortion on jesus i is even better than on siamese
dream! all in all it's a fine album, hopefully the next
album will have more depth. there are rumours of an all
acoustic album to be released in the very near future.

right now i'm looking forward to zwan's cover of number of
the beast which is a b-side.

pitchfork crucifies veteran artists for fun. i don't have
high hopes for me personally enjoying the zwan album but
even i wouldn't take that review seriously. pitchfork is a
joke site.
