well IMO its better to stay great than to chance it - when
people get back together voices have changed, and usually
they're older and lazier - cant bang it out like they used
to

thank god w/ electro music people will NEVER be too tired to
pretend to play a laptop - they could tour till they're 112

I last saw them during their "farewell" tour, Lollapalooza
'91.

They did split at the height of their popularity. I thought
there would be a Who-style reunion tour somewhere down the
road. Even us alterna-kids weren't that naive.

I'm NOT looking forward to it. Very few bands can just have
some huge hiatus and then get back and rock like nothing
happened. New Order is the only one that comes to mind right
now.

Yup.
Jane's Addiction rules.
Perry is the only one I really care about though; and he's
been in music over these past years. The new Jane's record
might be refreshing. Might be. The reason most bands suck
when they reunite is there's no drive by any of them since
they figure they can't get another big hit. With Jane's
Addiction, I'm sure they could top been caught stealing.
