Yes, I just learned that there's a break-beat called the Amen-break. It's the one you hear everywhere. ^_^
But what are the other breaks called? Like the one ye hear in "Come on my Selector"? Where does it come from? Who invented that little voice ye hear?

The one in Come on my Selector is the "Think" break, from Lyn Collins - Think (about it).

"But what are the other breaks called?"
there's the "think" break, "hotpants", the "funky drummer", the "Apache", the "skull snaps" one (check prodigy - "poison") and many others, but these are the most common (at least in hiphop and drum&bass).
surprise surprise most of them (all?) are sampled from funk '70 tracks.
"Like the one ye hear in "Come on my Selector"? Where does it come from? Who invented that little voice ye hear? "
it could be james brown, maybe it's a "think " or a "funky drummer". not sure about that. i cannot check at the moment.
cheers!

that vocal sample in come on my selector (that sounds like woody the wood pecker) is an OOOOOLD school ragga / dnb sample - boyeeeee
amens have all types of different names - then theres two step, tech step, jump up - etc on & on
the "amen" comes from some soul song from the 50s or something - NOT from a james brown song...though many think that - hopefully ill find the source of this for proof!

the amen break (as mentioned above) comes from the song "Amen My Brother" by The Winstons
it's about 2 or 3 minutes long, with organs and saxs (or some kind of brass instrument)

copied from my link above:
Break: Amen Song: "Amen, Brother" Artist: The Winstons
The Amen break is arguably one of the most used ever (it's right up there next to James Brown's "Funky Drummer"). Because of the fast speed of the original song, it was used quite a bit in early drum and bass. It's still used today, although not quite as often, as dnb has moved away from chopped breaks [Not sure about that -- martinhm]. "Amen, Brother" was originally released on 45 in the late 60s and is a pretty rocking song (The Freestylers took huge chunks of it for their "Breaker Beats"). Love that organ.

btw, there are fakes out there
jsut fyi
and i wasn't "getting up in everyones face", i was just putting up what i know and believe to be fact
if i am indeed wrong, then i apologise, but to the best of my knowledge, everyone i know refers to it as Amen MY Brother, everywhere i have seen any literature on it it has been referred to as Amen MY brother, and when searched on WinMX and such programs (if you can find it) it's referred to as Amen MY Brother

I'm guessing this has arisen from somebody remembering the name of the track wrongly at some point and then it was just passed on incorrectly.
just fyi, google turns up 274 references of "amen brother" +winstons, and 29 references to "amen my brother" +winstons. not that this proves a thing, but I'd be inclined to believe that the vinyl linked above was genuine.
