Talking of Vintage Techno, I got Stakker Humanoid on 12"
yesterday. Very good. Although perhaps not as good as
Eurotechno, which grows on me with every listen...

I remember the video to that back in the days when MTV was
half-decent... Emanation & the Magi remix

I always thought it was one of Liam Howletts' best tunes -
The video was pretty cool...

I just want to get famous so I can go on MTV and select a
bunch of videos I want to see played..

Definetly that one, Ken Ishii - Extra & Echo Exit,
Jamiroquai - Space Cowboy, Altern8 - Evapor8, Blackstar -
Respiration...

Yeah, a lot of the most "memorable" old-skool tunes really
weren't much to do with the rave scene back then... They
just turned up on compilations more towards the later half
of the 90's..

I remember Rabbit City Records was always big in the rave
scene - DJ Seduction wrote a few real classics - DJ Elis Dee
- Criminal Mindz (from my tiny home town!) - and mostly a
whole load of producers/names you'd never recognise...

And a lot of producers/names who just release one or two
records - FSOL were behind tonnes of great records back
then.. Mental Cube & Smart Systems, etc...

But yeah, Prodigy were kind of "uncool" if you were into the
rave scene back then.

Yeah, FSOL (Brian Dougans mostly) had a number of different
aliases that released lots of 12''.

you will need to get the club mix of the KLF's 'Madruga
Eterna' from 'Chill out'. It's a given.

And Underworld's 'Cowgirl' too. And A Guy called Gerald's
'Voodoo Ray'. I could go on and on on this topic....

"So guys, instead of discussion which countries you just
fucking hate (??!!)"

this must have been when global goon (the member but not the
musician) talked about how america sucked and i think
christians as well

Please help!

I've been trying to track this kind of stuff down for ages,
but I am on Mac and can't use Soulseek... are there any
alternatives?

I'd cut my nuts off for The Horn track by Egyptian Empire...
and that whole Altern8 album for sentimentalities sake! And
GTO, and Sons of a loop da loop era, and Acen!!!!

PS: Acen did some nice stuff on Clear records under the name
Spacepimp... remember that?

I used to have the Altern8 album - Full on Mask Hysteria...
Think I leant it to someone though!

VERY nostalgic! Definetly - Even in the late 90's it was
nostalgic - Especially the last few tunes on the album -
They're a lot more laid back than their usual stuff... The
last track really sounds like a farewell to the whole early
90's rave scene...

I'd probably get depressed listening to it now.

I loved Son of a Loop da Loop era too - I always wonder what
happened to those producers... I've got a whole tonne of
vinyl from back then - Got my first set of decks when I was
about 14 so the scene was still pretty vibrant.

I really loved the early-mid 90's acid techno/trance scene
too...

Isotonic - Different Strokes

I used to love all the early Rabbit City Records releases
too - Just called Rabbit City 1, Ribbit City 2, etc...

Paradise - Dance in Eden / Passion
The Virus EP (!)

Most of the real classics from back then are long forgotten.

Should be "Isotonik"

Actually comprissed of Groove Rider, DJ Hype and someone
else, back in '92 - Different Strokes is a must, and I'm
really into their remix of Music for the Future by Lust
(piano breakdown sounds amazing!).

Lots of good mixes available if you scan some ppl on the
Oldskool room in Soulseek - 91/92 are really the best years
IMO.

Now I was standing in the corner, I'm searching for my
rizla..
I had some marijuana, I needed to get higher..
So I went into the corner with my rizla and my ganja..
Built another spliff until i was tottaly outta my head!
Cause Ratpacks rocking and were shocking, we keep the party
moving..
Now everybody jumping, the whistle posse blowin'..
Let's go into the corner with the rizla and the ganja..
Build another spliff until we tottaly outta our heads!
