..and i'm seriously creaming my pants right now. This could
turn out to be my new favorite cd. Dave G is opening up a
can of wup-ass on those drums...

Audioslave and QOTSA were the best rock albums i bought in
2002.

dissapointing...you mean previous QOTSA releases was better
or what?
Rated R had some more mystique to it, but this IS great
stuff IMO

I've only heard bad things about audioslave...but I feel I
should give them a shot, since i've been both great
soundgarden fan and RATM fan

It's not bad... but not enough variation i thought, and
those radio-introductions inbetween some of the songs really
piss me off.

All in all a good record, but i don't understand why this
band is being hyped so much. It's not that great imo

And if i see that "no one knows" video just one more time, i
think i'm going to start screaming!!

I still think the first album was the best.

Rated R is ok but it's just got no longevity. I only like
'..Chemistry' and '..Headache', and I don't enjoy playing
along to it either. It's just boring.

'...Deaf' is alright but there's stacks of filler on there.

Still waiting for that Kyuss reunion I guess ;)

I think the hype mostly is Dave's fault. I mean, this is the
first (real) time he recorded something on drums since
Nirvana. And with the Nirvana-hype only a couple of weeks
back...
But I really think that QOTSA stands out anyway. They do
theyre best in music. To quote Josh Homme: If youre lucky
enough to be a musician, I think you should push yourself to
the limits with your music...

...besides...I really enjoy artist that experiment with
time-signatures

Oh I'm glad they're around. Josh is one of the more
intelligent writers around and his guitar tone is always
fantastic. Plus they're a little bit dangerous, bit of
desert madness to them. Grohl's drumming is superb as well
(his replacement tho is suprisingly good, hardly any
difference when he plays). Some of the experiements worked
on 'Deaf' and some didn't, maybe they should get back with
Chris Goss and get a little tighter next time. And get
Lanegan involved more, he's hardly ever on the fuggin
albums.

you should really listen Rated R through some more. It
really is a album that should be heard like one long
track... ;)
