haven't seen the anime... *' _ '* but from what i've read, Rei is an 'experimental' being, conceived with the genes of Yui Ikari and other genes of an angel (which explains her red eyes). since she isn't a normal human being but has been created in laboratory (or something like that), she has been cloned (Rei1, Rei2, Rei3)... it is quite creepy |
