 | a friend of mine designed a whole winter's collection for children 'cause he was looking for a job as a designer. he
sent it to H&M and they returned that they were sorry but
didn't need any more staff. a week ago he found out that
they copied is whole collection and sold it under his name.

he might be pretty naive, c'mon a large company rips of an
 applicant, that really sucks

 | Did he copyright his stuff? If he had mailed himself his sketches/drawings in a sealed
package, with his autograph over the seal. He at least would
have had something to prove it were his ideas.

 | I had that once in a "magic:the gathering" contest. You had to design new sort of cards and you'd win some nice price. I
sent in some neat new ideas and got no reply. Later I found
they applied virtually the same ideas I sent in onto their
 cards. :(
