longfellow again.......i need to read more of his poetry,
an actual BOOK!!

i like the visual images this quote evokes =0)

Men of genius are often dull and inert in society, as a
blazing meteor when it descends to earth, is only a stone.

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, poet (1819-1892)

Of course, if that meteor (if it's big enough) hits the
Earth, then men of genius AND society becomes dull and inert
PERMANENTLY! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

killer, sir.

they are dull coz they are always talking about their new
theorys and contraptions they invented, and the chick sez
'want to come back to my place', and he sez 'my grandfather
invented beds in 1894' and she leaves and he goes to talk to
the bald guy in the corner and get his face rearranged.....

and meteors are made of ice, or at least they should be

I like to watch movies by the late Genius
Stanley Kubrick. To some, his movies were dull and inert,
but to others they were the cream of the crop

kubrick dull :)

what i like about the 'genius man/or woman' movies is that
generally their REAL lives were as fascinating as their
particular talent. thats why i like them.

i like kubrick and his movies.....not all were genius IMO,
but several were, and he was a phenominal director!

this about genius ppl movies is all true, but i dislike a
lot that in most cases films are based on genius ppl that
had some sort of mental illnes or some other disfunction
i could be wrong again tho :)

i once had to sit through the movie deep impact. i thought
it was so terrible, and after it was over my friend looked
at me like "life will never be the same again" and i never
heard the end of how incredible that movie was.

Aw man that was an awful movie. An entire film of Russell
Crowe limping around contorting his face... can you picture
him staring at himself in the mirror practicing his tics and
twitches?

Just once I'd like to see a realistic movie about mentally
ill and/or retarded people, with all the scab eating,
chainsmoking and masturbation that entails. Not from
hollywood. Nuh uh.

i am of the opinion that genius sometimes have problems
(mental and otherwise) relating to normal people. i mean it
makes sense, can you imagine having that amazing intellect
or talent for painting or music (it's hard for me)......i
mean how can you ever escape that......it's impossible. it
has to screw with your mind, some people DO probably handle
it better than others however!

i thought 'whats eating gilbert grape' was a good movie
about a mentally handicapped person (leo dicaprio was
amazing) check it out.

yes there are plenty of genius people with mental problems
but there are many more genius people that are just like
normal people and we rarely get to see these films about
thee people
but i guess no one beside me would go and watch film like
that :)
