http://zebox.com/oscillik/ Please visit and listen to my music I know that I'm nowhere near as good as you guys on here, but I'd like your opinions Tirade (full version) is exactly what it says on the tin Tirade (live backing track) is a cut down version of Tirade minus vocals and guitars but with a new intro ;) Ruined (again) is a cover/reconstruction of Nine Inch Nails' Ruiner I did these tracks in college last year, and I know I didn't get the mixing right on the guitars for Tirade, but hey I'm still learning :) please gimme some feedback, I'd be VERY appreciative |

I don't want to say this is BAD.. because it's programmed well and everything.. it's just ..y'know.. it's been done, some of the breaks you used are beyond cliched.. and a lot of it sounds like rehashed atr, some nin and a discarded mix of 'come to daddy'.. ..but I'm not saying ur bad at what u do.. its just that it's too close to being something else that's already been done well (many times) rather than breaking any new ground... and btw.. it's time to jump-ship on the nin thing.. trent reznor's over |

yeah i know that Tirade is a bit like ATR, but that's what I wanted to do, I wanted to see if I could do a track that was that kind of genre I used that breakbeat because (i know it's an ancient break and it's been overused) but I love it With Ruined (again) I tried to give Ruiner a different sound, and I'm pleased with what I've done with it, in my own opinion I think it sounds totally different from the original I personally don't think Reznor is over, not by a long shot, but thank you for you opinions :) |

I see that.. on reznor though, he's sortof run that angst/despair thing into the ground, no? I mean everything's decaying and/or falling apart, void this, soulless that.. it's enough already,, what is definatley over though is his industrial-metal-techno aesthetic from Broken and so on.. that with each reiteration becomes more and more tiresome... he's still talented though as a producer etc.. I like the ambient soundscapes he does for film scores and say, Quake.. but no one needed The Fragile, let's be honest here |

i'll agree with you that The Fragile was definately different from his older stuff, but that's usually what happens with good artists - they re-define themselves every so often....the more often the better i say |

from pretty hate machine to say, broken/fixed, yes.. from the downward spiral on I haven't really payed much attention.. but from what I've heard, no. I really liked "the perfect drug" tho |

reznor didn't mix this i think if he did have any influence over this song it would have been production wise, but i doubt RDJ would have taken any notice anyways! Aphex totally done at the heart of it all |
