terrible doubt here.
lets see if you can help me.

about minute: 2'24"
there is what for me seems to be a defective sound due to a
scratch in the cd, but my cd doesnt seem to have any
notorious scratch... so I dont understand...
I ve got the doubt if maybe it is an original effect of the
track

it happens twice in a similar way:

2'24'' and again in 2'26'' (more or less)

could you listen to your saw cd (track 13) and see if in
this minute you hear something any similar to a scratch in
the cd?

my doubt is because the cd runs correctly, time doesnt stop
or jump at that moment, it just makes the "annoying" sound.

so, is it a deffect of my cd or is it from the original
recording?

i heard a story that Richards cat started eating some of the
master tapes of SAW85-92 and thats why the quality aint so
good.
Could just be bullshit though

what about the very end of the last track on autechre's
Confield? it says a lot about an artist's work when you
dont' flinch at the sound of a cd skipping for a good 20
seconds- assuming it is all a part of the mix as intended.

what about this tho? I think I bought a defective disc
because even when I try to backtrack it it fucks up and
blanks out and struggles to load the next 1/2 second of
sound before pausing again..

... this is annoying, the disc is definately fucked up,
there's like a discoloration near the center, beneath the
surface.. and I BOUGHT it that way

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-01-26 08:03 [#00528753]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

I'll have to get a new one.. maybe. Confield was my
full-length introduction to Autechre, what else do you
suggest I get , if I were trying to explore them a bit more?
I was thinking Tri Repitae++ (sp?) especially considering
the US version comes with two addtl. EPs.. any suggestions?

Yeah, i noticed the glitch to. Orange spillage or not, the
quality (sound quality that is) of the cd in general isnt
that good, because of the nature of the media.

But i like it anyway. Dont listen to saw that much, but when
i do i enjoy.
