is that the uk version they r showing over there??

its not a hard accent at all by our standards!!! apparently
though the americans are gonna make their own version of it
pretty soon

it is quite funny, series 2 is funnier than series one...
kinda like 'spinal tap' comedy...

I watched the repeats when I was in London over xmas - that
is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Absolute
genius.

Also watched "Phoenix Nights" on DVD. Almost wet myself
laughing, although I suspect people who have not lived in
Britain would not understand the humour of that at all...

Cockney? It isn't cockney there are more than three accents
in England you know :)

Everytime an English person is portaid on US series or
comedy it is either cockney, really fake posh, or a beatles
liverpool accent.

It is a sort of general sort of southern accent, that they
speak around that part of the country. It probably has some
sort of name but being an ignorant northerner I don't know.

Most of the character have pretty bland and normal standard
southern English accents - this is called received
pronunciation (RP) I think..

Gavin has a bit of west country accent though - probably
from Devon or Somerset or somewhere...

Really none of these accents are hard to understand...

The Office is based in Slough / Swindon, and there are no
strong accents here.
If you're having trouble understanding then avoid Scouse,
Geordie, Yorkshire, Manc, Glaswegian, Welsh, Brummie cos you
ain't heard nothing yet.
