It's not just another AFX or AE thread. I was curious to
who you think has more shit music? Obiously all of you have
skipped some tracks on either of their cd's because it was
lousy so who do you think has more shitty tracks ae or afx?
My opinion is ae by far. They have some realllllly good
stuff but then alot to skip over. IMO.

(bradley robot, q-chastic, gak...)

Who cares? Seriously...

Are we bored to point that we have to dissect our artists?
The "bad" these artists produced are FAR outweighed by the
"good" they have given us, pretty much proven by the
critical and fan response they've gotten over the years.

Why listen if all you hear are flaws (or is that the
point)?

:\

ae are harder to listen to, but the 'bad' trakcs grow on
you, and tend to work in context of the album/ep--- afx has
done some fairly cheesy stuff (im thinking homers donut
oddysey, r2d2, the tetris mix)... but perhaps these are
very old

2 different styles, 2 different "artists" and music.

Besides all that, if you had to choose to have only ae cds
or afx cds, it would be ae cds.

I don't think either have done anything shit. The closest
that either have come to that is probably Expert Knob
Twiddlers, but that's not really shit, just uninteresting to
me.

offline Asche XL on 2003-01-22 18:24 [#00524571]

Sorry, I should have worded the question differently. It
was meant more as like "Which artist has more tracks that
you skip over?" Not shit necessarily because music is all
opinion. =)

Well, in that case:

AFX:

-Classics
-Ventolin Remixes
-Windowlicker

Ae:

-ep7
-Gantz Graf

That answer your question, Asche? Like I said, not a lot
these gentlemen have done musically bugs me, so I tend to
overlook the "bad"...

:)

afx totally.

and to ppl who say 90% of ae is poo, lemme say it for the
31337th time: IT'S EVOLUTION BABY!

I used to dis 90% of Ae too. Look at me now! I used Chiastic
Progressor (tm), and now I'm that good!

hmmmmmm
ae has more AVERAGE tracks than afx. afx has more very good
stuff. so i think afx.

but fsol is better anyway.

afx has lots of joke and/or pure experimental trax, while Ae
is all serious (well, 88%). But not ep7 and Gantz Graf.

BTW: Sim Gishel is a remix of Zeiss Contarex!

thinking the same.

ae´s work is more solid and coherent
afx is very camaleonic and in some way he has done more
mediocre music

only my opinion

I prefer afx to autechre anyway

to explain:

afx moves from 10 to 6
autechre moves from 9.95 to 7

no no actually ae and afx might even have equal amounts of

rubbish. for me the ae d00ds are just some d00ds.

rubbish. However, if I had to choose, I'd choose for aphex
because I like a greater percentage of his tracks and he has
a little bit more variety in music styles.
