You have two of their best albums, nacmat.

Dots and Loops would probably be a good starting point for
anyone on this board wanting to try their music.

Mars Audiac Quintet is probably their most "pop" album.
Transient Random Noise Bursts ... their most rockin'. All 3
switched-on compilations are great as well - many highs and
a few lows there.

Their only full-length album that I really don't care for is
Cobra and Phases ...

Dots and Loops is pretty good, very moody and lounge'ish.
They also have Mouse on Mars producing some stuff with them.

But anyways, yeah, It's sad that Mary went, she passed away
2 days before I purchases "Dots and Loops", but there's a
good band I recomend everybody. Listen to Schema, it's a
collaboration of Mary and Hovercraft.

i don't have any of their CD's, and the first song i ever
heard from stereolab i really hated.

but i had a change of heart listening to their album in
total with my BF who is a big fan. i think they have some
great music, and it was indeed a sad day when she passed
away (R.I.P.)

Yeah, happened to me, I didn't like Stereolab when I heard
them at my first time, but I gave them a second chance and
then I really dig their stuff, don't know why, maybe it was
a song.

I've got quite a lot of stereolab stuff and my favourite
releases are Switched On Volume 2 (Refried Ectoplasm),
Cybele's Reverie EP and Music For the Amorphous Body Study
Centre EP. Stereolab tend to suffer from the "all the tracks
are the same" drawback, and it's easy to think that, but
Switched On 2 is actually quite different from other 'lab
releases.
