The word HOUSE confuses people,it makes them think of
commerialism.

IMO its still shit.Although I haven't heard a lot of,so my
opinion isn't valid.

and acid play a vital part.

Dunno there are some artists in all those genres, which
cannot be hated. For example Astral Projection is happy goa
from Israel, but lot of people love it who are into serious
techno and/or IDM.

Add 'Mr Egg' by Ege Bam Yasi, 'Interface' by Phase four,
'Whirlwind' by Lenny D.

Acid still rocks.

Phuture - Acid trax or
Hardfloor - Acperience

The hardfloor song was a bit later but is the ultimate use
of a tb303 ever.

Did you know acid trax was made about 2.5 years before its
proper release?

offline Henrik from Ã…rhus N (Denmark) on 2003-01-17 06:43 [#00517594]

Spikee Dragon: Yes, Rising High had quite a lot of proper
releases. Best one IMO: The Hypnotist: The house is mine!

Bill Hicks: Acperience is class, but far from the ultimate
use of the tb303. Check some early German Force Inc.
releases. That was tb303 to the extreme!

Ceri JC: Really? No, I did not know that. How come it was
held back for so long?

Phuture made it just for a laugh one of the members
apartments they gave a copy of it to a DJ mate of theirs -
he was playing it about a year later when it caught on. Even
then it was ages before they properly released it.

Mind you Aphex & co. claim that Richard did a similair style
a few years before Acid Trax came out, so it's unclear as to
who got there first. Either way Phuture - Acid Trax is
generally recognised as being the first "acid" track.

Spikee:
Technohead were great :)

I hold Technohead fondly in my heart. I have quite a few
things by them but not enough.

I guess Aphex & Co. claim this and that. Mind you, it could
be true though.

Yes, I also have the original Hypnotist on 1st pressing
Rising High. A true gem. I also have the 1992 (?) and 1997
Remix. Also very, very good.

Hey, Spikee Dragon, speaking of Rising High get a load of
this old juvel: 'A homeboy, a hippie and a funky dred'

Remember"Total confusion"? YESSSS!!!

Technohead...hmmm..gotta check my record collection!

Oh yeah, Bobjazz, Chaos a.d. sports some pretty mean-ass
old-school acieeeed on Buzz Caner. That´s what made me buy
it initially.

- Is it possible to get ones hands on some of the vintage
808 State (i.e. before 'Ninety')?

- Lil Louis´ Frech Kiss isn´t bad, but have some of you
heard 'Blackout' by him? Much better and trippier than FK.
"The lights on , the lights go out - BLACKOUT!"

- Just heard Steve Silk Hurley´s 'Jack your Body' the other
day, and it left me wondering what the hell was so special
about that track. Maybe the drums..?

- Mr. Fingers! Yeah, classic!

- Children of the Night...just bought that record a few
months ago at a sail out! Cool!

- Universal Indicator. How can one (read: 'me'!) get ones
hands on this gem? Was it ever re-released? Does anybody
have a copy (of a copy) for sale? Come on, guys! :-)

That Steve Silk Hurley track was basically the first proper
house tune. It came out in 1985!

offline Henrik from Ã…rhus N (Denmark) on 2003-01-19 11:15 [#00520051]
Points: 280 Status: Regular

I realize that Jack your Body is a bonifide classic (hell, I
have it on two copies!), I just think it sounds extremely
dated and boring. Considerably more dated and boring than
many other classic tunes from the mid to late 80´s.
