ok......so i went to SEVERAL movies this weekend.....two
had the word HOURS.

one.....'the hours' was an interesting portrait of women who
let others live their lives for them.....sad, and uplifting
in a round about way.....beautiful score, PIANO, by philip
glass

the second is '25th HOUR' the new spike lee joint......and
lemmie tell you.....powerful movie. there was a scene that
blew me away with it's raw honesty (i don't wanna spoil it,
i'll only say it took place in the lav) i loved the
preformances of edward norton and brain cox <----powerful
character actor that in a small role.....makes a BIG
impression!

definately recommend BOTH movies......but perhaps for this
mostly MALE crowd........the second movie will be more of a
pleaser!

'25th HOUR' sounds like the one i need to see out of these
two

about 'the hours' - i dont think i would be able to watch an
intire film with those actresses :)

'the hours' is NOT a movie for a lot of people. it's a quiet
movie (and the subject deals mostly with women, so it's not
everyones cup O tea)

the 25th hour on the other hand is a real tour de
force.....really emphasizes the choices we make and how they
affect our lives AFTER. =0)

I saw The Hours.

Beautiful movie.

Amazing performances, amazing plot/interchanging stories,
amazing score.

I got teary eyed, and that takes alot to do that to me.

I see it winning 100000 oscars.

Not for everyone (like LeCoeur said, its about women, and
some of you wouldnt be comfortable with it cause its a
"chick flick") but if you have any bit of humanity, and
compassion, youll get something out of the movie. Its about
life. Not just women.

i totaly love quiet movies, i dont mind if its about women,
i just dislike meryl streep that much, its silly really but
i just get nervous watching her
i dont mind nicole kidman, i dont like her and neither
dislike her
julianne moore is awesome
but i think i'll skip this flick ;)

yea to be honest i don't like meryl streep either but she's
great in this movie. go fig. the plot really is that
universal, and as previously said in this thread, it's
beautifully performed and directed (and scored).

i finally watched 25th hour...alright i guess, it started
great but after that scene where they observe the place
where wtc used to stand, well it just goes down from there,
gets a bit boring...shame really, cuz it wouldn't take much
for it to be a very good film. it was just too much of
feeling sorry, and hugs, and sweet friends talk. the cast
was great tho, i liked them all very much.

I watched the Transporter tonight. Even though it had plenty
of very cheesy moments, the driving and fighting was so cool
that it was still worth it. Jason Strathom is a fuggin
badass in that movie!

visually, there was some really great moments in the
hours... and i did feel like Daldry coaxed some excellent
performances from his actors... but i thought the way the
stories were connected was way too obvious, and left the
audience with absolutely no work to do...

the 25th hour was pretty emotional... very spike lee-ey in a
good sort of way

It won one Oscar, Nicole Kidman as best actress.
