Aphex Song Titles...

rob aka bucephalus from australia on 2001-04-04 03:23 [#00002486]

what's with these aphex twin song titles? cow cud is a twin,
icct hedral, fingerbib, iz-us, nannou, and all the other
(seemingly) made up names he uses for tracks, what do they
mean, if anything?...

some of the names are anagrams (eg. cow cud is a twin =
caustic window ) and other has psuedo meanings, such as
bucephalus bouncing ball, which is : some guys horse, a
city, and "mouth-penis" in another language (so I've read)
and then there's confusing jokes (such as the names on one
of the analogue bubblebath releases, which are jumbled up
numbers) but I think that he doesn't care about what they
are called, and if he has to give them a name, he'll name it
after whatever the hell he's thinking of at the time, or
something stupid, but seeing as all his native releases
(under the rephlex label ) hardly ever have names, I think
he only names them either when he thinks it should have a
name, or when he doesn't want to look stupid to the other
record labels, bit I could be wrong,...

I feel like a 30 year old man revisiting the womb he stayed
in as a fetus, only to realize that nothing has changed
since he left.

Those wrinkles and warts were not there before. What has
happened to that place. It looks wore out and raggedy like
my old shoes.

we need to remodel!

i think some are also cornish words etc. a lot seem to
revolve around kind of natural elements too; such as calx
and that.. also 'ph' and 'x' get overused probably to tie in
with his name.
