The Braindance Coincidence

Siamese Twin on 2001-04-03 22:23 [#00002463]

I just got this today for £5, it is very good... there's
some really interesting tracks, and funny ones (Rewind by
Cylob is excellent - Steven Hawking raps and sings). I
suggest you get it, though you probably all already own it.

steve hawkings is the guy in the wheelchair that conjures
philosiphies about how the universe work, he speaks through
a keyboard on his electronic wheelchair, such style......

his theories are so insanely complex they blow my mind

Its not Steven Hawking.. its a voice generated by a
computer.. a Macintosh computer. I believe the voice is
called "ralph". not sure though. I would know. I have the
new Mac G4 [for anyone who doesnt know, its better than the
Pentium 4].

LtAirComStarscream from NEW YORK on 2001-04-04 05:29 [#00002501]

The Pentiums are now peices of crap. amd has been building
better processors for awhile now. And who cares if mac
processors are better. Macs have no games and in the grand
scheme of things thats more important. Video Editing and
Music are better on mac but that is insignificant.

AFXDUB from Canada on 2001-04-04 05:51 [#00002504]

LtAirComStarscream: i think thats funny.. its kind of the
other way around.. without all the shit the Macs can do
where would you get all those nice games you love to play?
Hmmm.. i wonder. :]

Oh, so we are in this debate, eh?

If it comes down between Intel and AMD, right now AMD offers
more bang for it's buck. I mean, shit... they are cheap and
hella good chips! BUT they make their own mediocre boards,
so they have to rely on others to make good mobo's for them,
like VIA.

With Intel, they make procs better than AMD right now (just
in speed right now for the time being) but they have their
own chipsets to match. I mean fuck, the AMD 1.3 is on a 266
bus, while the Intel 1.5 is on a 400mhz bus. AMD DOES have
DDR for RAM now, but test results from tom's hardware make
it sound hardly worth the while... yet. But with all of
this, Intel's proprietary RAMBUS ram is expensive and
required by p4. So there...

As for apple's... por little apple. They are great, but
they don't have the complete software support. Yet they are
great for multimedia. I'd rather use photoshop on a g4 than
my AMD 1.2, or an intel machine. And face it guys, when
windows XP comes around, we will all have to either move to
MacOSX, goto a Linux solution, or sign your soul over to
microsoft to use XP. (you'll have to re-register your copy
of XP w/ms before installing it, AND whenever you have ANY
hardware change... give me a fucking break). And i
figure... if you're going to linux, might as well do it on a
mac with osX. And c'mon... rdj uses apple... that should be
enough of a reason for us all to go mac.

As for "The Braindance Coincidence" ... never heard of it...

macs have better colours than pcs do, i was pissed off about
this so i sprayed my pc green, but I forgot to cover the
screen, so I spent that next week scraping paint off my
screen with a pencil sharpener blade....which was nice.

Scary Bear on 2001-04-04 19:12 [#00002554]

haha,
personally I have seen a lot of people who spend a lot of
time talking about all the technicalities if computers, star
networks, bus networks, nodes, bits and bytes, you name it,
the more complex they can make themselves sound the more
they start to sectretly fancy themselves for being
intelligent during one, overall, FUCKING BORING
CONVERSATION!!! (Nobody realises that during all that time
they could have spent the time talking about sex instead,
and enjoyed it far more).

Whilst on the subject of talking about sex may I add that it
is also annoying me in the world of today, the amount of
people that turn around and say "Guys only have a one track
mind". Well mother nature inplanted this obsession in men
and women for a reason so why not fucking enjoy it???

Sex, in many ways, is so neglected. For all the girls on the
site, please may I also add that I have heard every womens
rights speach recited to me in angry tones and I AM
respectable to girls. I don't harass people, I try to enjoy
life before I die, is that so bad? is it?

OK, I've got it out of my system. You can talk about ugly
circuit boards now, don't mind me I can be far too self
opinionated at times.

Oh and I have read all of the messages here, I am sure some
would like to know, what the fuck is The Braindance
Coincidence???????????????

XePhA88 from San Jose, CA on 2001-04-04 20:33 [#00002565]

sorry scary bear if I got way too technical for you. I'll
keep it on your level. (which is what? have you ever even
opened a computer before?). Just realize that talking
computers and aphex twin is damn near as good as sex to me!

XePhA88-)

Scary Bear on 2001-04-05 17:52 [#00002653]

Ooh, I's sensing a bit of insultedness there.

Fair play mate, I can actually be a cunt sometimes as I said
I can be self opinionated. Hey think what you want, but I
agree with U on one thing Aphex makes pretty fucking rude
tunes

Scary Bear on 2001-04-05 17:53 [#00002654]

That was a 'Sorry' by the way!!

Scary Bear on 2001-04-05 17:56 [#00002655]

But I have opened a computer. It wasn't all that thrilling,
just undid the screws took out the old sound card and put
the new one in. Um, not much to talk abut there, shit now I
am talking on "your level" it just sounds like I am trying
to take the piss. Forget it, that is all I got to say.

XePhA88 from San Jose, CA on 2001-04-05 22:57 [#00002669]

umm okay. sorry scary bear, i don't want to start a fight
or anything, its all good. i just had to defend my 1337
computer skillz. but yeah, peace brotha!

(group hug!)
