Mike & Rich Lp(Any Good?)

aphex-nin on 2001-09-10 05:24 [#00030442]

I don't know what to expect

Aron? from Canada on 2001-09-10 05:39 [#00030450]

I can't find that fucking record in my sorry ass town!!
I almost bought it in Edmonton a while back, but I got
Autechre (LP5) instead.

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-09-10 06:31 [#00030454]

i like it.

quelox from 45 on 2001-09-10 06:52 [#00030461]

ah .. its ok ... a little on the childish side which is
alright every now and then.

doesn't have the longevity as either µ-ziq or aphex solo ..
but it's kinda cool nonetheless. I quite like vodka and bu
bu bu bu ..

but yea .. it's not BAd .. just different.

My Little Phoney from the paddock on 2001-09-10 10:58 [#00030486]

I've got the vinyl version, and nearly every tune sounds
loads better at 45rpm. I can't listen to it at 33rpm, it
bores the tits off me.

Sound Assassin from Patent Office UK on 2001-09-10 12:52 [#00030502]

It's worth getting it for the amusing cover art alone -
taking the piss out of a classic game - Downfall!

Have fun.

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-09-10 12:59 [#00030503]

Listen to the samples on this page.

dadonck on 2001-09-10 13:59 [#00030509]

you can smell the fun mike and rich had while producing this
album

Super Magnetic Neo from Australia on 2001-09-10 19:31 [#00030547]

Is it just me or does anyone else think that most of the
tracks have a retro-ish feel?

BTW, I really like it.

ChemX from Miami, FL on 2001-09-10 20:24 [#00030555]

I heard a few tracks from it -- not bad, kinda loopy.
Download the track "Vodka" and you'll get my drift. I can't
seem to find the album in my area though, bummer.

it very much kicks ass. there are some excellent tracks on
there. i suggest getting it.

Netlon Sentinel from morf no on 2001-09-10 20:51 [#00030561]

expert knob twiddlers contains waht you might call hilarious
music. fer example that kangaroo song and bu bu bu bu. very
danceable as well.

nelton, good discription. it is very funny, but very well
done. my fave track is Reg.. when ever i hear they guy make
that odd noise i crack up! that song is a great combo of
funny sounds clips, whisteling and great complex beats...
eggy toast is a good one too!

this disc is for fanatics only, it is (imo) a disappointing
waste of time and money. there are a few ok tracks but
mostly it wastes the talents of those involved. there is
childlike, and there is childish, and this record is the
latter. the artwork is clever and funny, but is that why
you buy music? check out some mp3's and unless you are one
of those "i must have everything related to rdj's existence
and it is all great!" people, skip it.

sorry, i haven't posted much here and just discovered that
hitting that back button can repost the text. i'll never do
it again.

sounds more like the worst aspects of u-ziq at times --
which is still really good. but the shit that makes rdj
stand out over other expert knob twiddlers is mostly lacking
from this set. that said, "mr. frosty" is sublime.

TRACK 4 "REG" BRILLIANT
TRACK 9 "THE SOUND OF BEADY EYES" IS EXCELLENT AND HAS A
BRILLIANT 70S PORNO HORN TUNE IN THERE SOMEWHERE AND NICE
TICKY TOKKY BEATS! PS SURELY ITS MORE CHILDISH TO DISS
SOMEBODY WHOS GOT THERE MUSIC REALEASED AND THERE OWN
RECOGNISED RECORD LABEL? PS THE CAPITOL LETTERS ARE FOR ALL
THE SQUINTY WANKMEISTERS!

You noe, I ate my copy of the cd

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-09-12 20:21 [#00031102]

I never bought the album, I listened to most of the mp3s and
thought it was a load of uninvolved garbage, that is, I
didn't connect in any way to the music, I wouldn't get it
for any reason other than to add to a collection.
