Now, i know where Aphex gets his bass sounds from (Roland TB-303, Roland-SH-101) and his beats (Most of the Roland TR range including 606, 909, 727) But where does he get his synth sounds from (i.e. The strings from Heliosphan, the harsh distorted synth sounds from Come To Daddy) Does anyone out here know at all |

Aphex sometimes uses a very innovative concept in electronic music, real instruments. That "distorted synth" sound in Come To Daddy is a real guitar with a processed wa-wa peddle, Aphex plays notes on string instruments and them doubles them up or echoes them then samples that and occasional uses "real" accoustic drums. |
