I do.

Its fucking great.

Yeah, beats and shit is great too... but theres just
something about pure, blissful ambience.

Please list your favorite songs/artists, of ambeint music.
Id like to broaden my spectrum.

THANKS!

I definetly know what yer sayin, sometimes I just get in one
of those moods where nothing but ambient music will do... I
find it very spiritual sometimes, also very soothing when
I'm stressed out, like right now...

helllllloooooo SawII

biosphere is an obvious choice, as is eno!

monoid mentioned jan jelinek, which is a real genius!
though i dont consider him as being ambient.

am i the only one that cant get into devine's aleamapper?
the ambient tracks almost all sound the same to me... im
more of a lipswitch guy. looking forward to his 'asect:
dsect' (or whatever it's called).

i don't know a whole lot of ambient though i do love it, so
i'll benefit from this thread as well. also, i don't fully
understand what ambient is after hearing SAW1. i wouldn't
have thought it to be ambient. never thought of alea mapper
as ambient either. my short list:
da twin
the boards
biosphere
eno (though i don't listen to him)
yagya
fsol (is some of their stuff considered ambient?)
spacetime continuum

Pure Ambient has to be very atonal I think. Not much of an
expert on ambient anymore but I use to be an absolute
ambient freak like 6 or 7 years back.

Cheers for the heads up re them, listening to the mix stream
now and it's excellent. Manages to do glitchy stuttering
bits without ruining the peaceful mood as I often find it
does in ambient.

favorite ambient track. It's amazing how a song so minimal
can be that extraordinary.

since when does it have to be completely atonal?
are you refering to generative music?
i dunno, i always use eno's work as a sort of template to
determine what i consider 'pure' ambient.

i've been completely into ambient music myself lately. i
havent made a song with beats in months.

though i dont think it fits as comletely ambient, fennesz's
'endless summer' has been one of my favorite albums lately.

I've got Eno's Spanner, which he did with Jah Wobble. It's
the most boring CD ever.

Biosphere's 'The Shield' is awesome. Biosphere does have
percussions all over the place on his albums though.

Hmm, this is like a year late you've probably already heard
it, but the Silent Hill soundtracks are all over Soulseek...
and if you buy SH3, you get a free soundtrack disc...
ownage. Akira Yamaoka does them, he's brilliant.

They're wonderful, 3 has a lot more beats/hip hop... even
some pop-ish songs. But they work.
