Recordshops -> Rush Hour (Nice records, friendly people, its
in the Spuistraat), Boudisque (Got some exclusive stuff
sometimes but the owner is a dick, its on the Nieuwedijk),
KillaKutz (If you like DnB, its located somewhere between
the Nieuwedijk and the Singel, dont know the name of the
street) and if you like hiphop you should visit Fatbeats on
the Singel.
The 'Melkweg' and 'Paradiso' are the best places for parties
and concerts, check http://www.melkweg.nl and
http://www.paradiso.nl for programs.
And if you like to smoke, you'll enjoy all our lovely
coffeeshops =)

How much money will you have by next October to spend in
amsterdam ?

I find it to be a strange city, but I can guarantee you will
love sepnding your money there.

There are some funny little booths like arcade games were
you are able to go in and watch a video and have a w*nk

you gotta go to the coffee shop known as global chillage. it
is a lovely little place where every thing is smooth and
rounded(no right-angled walls), they play ambient tunes and
i believe they sell drugs.

Amsterdam is a great city (its why i live here)
but apart from checking out the usual shite venture further
into the city, just jump on any tram and go a few stops and
get off and walk around, the weed is cheaper the more you
get away from the tourist area.
check out Vondel Park, a great park with bars and live acts
and theatre, a great place to get away from it all, also the
museums and art galleries are top, check out museumplein.
coffeeshops to look out for are:
The Speakeasy-right next door to the main Grasshopper and
the cheapest weed for the area.
The Kuil(also called the 4:20)-nice chilled bar where you
can also get alcohol and listen to Frank Zappa all day.
Barneys-a coffeeshop but also where you can get a monster
breakfast at any time of the day, this is in the Jordaan
area of Amsterdam, a nice area away from the sleeze.

for clubs the places to check out are the Melkweg and
Paradiso mentioned above(www.melkweg.nl + www.paradiso.nl)
there is usually always a top act or dj on Friday or
Saturday, also there are plaenty of other clubs and nights
going on all over the city, beleive me!!! it does not stop.

and if you are going to dabble in the red-light, the women
are always up for a bit of haggling, they will ask for
usually 100guilders for a suck and fuck but you can haggle
them down to 50.

also, De Pijp, which is the old south of Amsterdam has it's
own red-light area which is more for the locals but it is
cheaper and you get a better service.

once you get away from the main tourist area(Damrak, Dam
Square, the Red Light District) the bums and junkies
disappear, most people don't venture away from these areas
so thats why you get the whole steroetype of the Amsterdam
experience. as i said just jump on a tram and head out into
the city and you will be away from all the tourist bullshit.

Thanks again for some very handy advice.

I must admit that I was not too impressed with the place the
time I went as I found that I could not relax amongst the
didgy folk asking for money all the time.

I will experiment with other areas as you suggest.

Question - Do the people of amsterdam abuse the smoking
facilities or has the novelty worn off ?

Which place sells the nicest hash from your experiences ?

Wizard,
it's normal life for the dutch to be able to smoke so they
don't abuse as much as the tourists.

and...
for hash: try and find a little coffeshop called "Twe de
Kamer" it is located between Leidsestraat and Spui, this
coffeshop was opened for the sole purpose of quality hash
for the locals, it is a tiny coffeshop and could be
difficult to find but it will be worth the search.

Go to Rotterdam, it's more chilled and less of a tourist
trap, plus weed is cheaper. All the prostitute/sex shop
stuff in Amsterdam gets a bit seedy and depressing after a

if your looking for something else apart from just weed, try
to find a shop called 'Pollinator'
it is in De Pijp area of Amsterdam and she also sells Peyote
and other psychedelics from the laboratory of Dr Shulgin, as
well as quality hash she sells and invented the "Icollator"
and the "Pollinator" two great inventions for separating THC
crystals from the plant, it is a fantastic little shop, well
it's not really a shop, you can go in and sit and chill out
and talk to the woman who is a font of knowledge regarding
any mind altering substance.

it is located in 'Cornelistrooststraat' in De Pijp, get the
25 tram and get off at Cornellistroostplein and it is round
the corner.

a truly hidden paradise in Amsterdam that not many people
know about.

the police arent bothered what state you are in, as long as
you don't hastle anybody else or cause trouble the police
couldnt give two fucks.

just take care, it's not the police you've got to look out
for, it's the scumbags on the street.
but as i say, they are all located in a very small part of
the city(the red light), so go explore and most of all HAVE
FUN!!!!!
