hmm...what do you (as in you, not the xltronic
populace, or what your net-friends think) like about IDM (or
whatever the FUCK it's called now :P).

example: i like and appreciate idm for the percussion.

i hardly listen to idm anymore, unless you consider diemax!
as idm...which i don't so fuck off.

I like "IDM" because the genra is soo wide.... it can be
from beep sip zip clop WHIOSHI eeeerkki nic cak tic of
autechre to squarepusher's speed jungle... to the wonderful
melodies of aphex twin, to the ambience of boards of canada,
to the 80's pop of DMX crew, to the sould funk of Nightmares
on Wax... to the goofy analogue sounds of Plone... to the
playful rnb glitch of dykehouse, to the gabber of venetian
snares and hell fish and the producer..... to the spooky/sad
melodies of plaid.... to the wierd choatic glitch of Otto...
and the list goes on and on and on and on.....

It is complex, deep and typically changes many times in a
track. It actually gets better rather than worse with each
consecutive listen.

I find most music sounds too shallow and after about 10-20
listens it bores me.

the difference is that you can call every good music IDM,
who can define IDM ? who ? i see that IDM will go in the
same thing like the other category's like pop or rap. "noo
no no, that is IDM and that not!"

i don't refer to it as "idm", i think that's putting it in a
box. i prefer to call it "insane people music" or "stuff
that sounds like a video game" or "you call that music? all
they do is push a button"
