every thing, a god of spam for example. I like tostadas.

Hey Monoid, there is a cave somewhere on the Hilo side of
the big island of Hawai'i... I don't recall the Hawaian
name, but it is the Vagina cave. The archeologists who ran
into it and brought attention to it outside of Hawai'i say
that it is anatomically correct, and there are old stories
of spiritual healing and transcendance taking place in this
very cave. I'd say you should visit some day.

Should I ask the burning Question then ? What is religion
exactly?

i actually just found out about this cave a few days ago.
my friend did some research and contacted a professor at the
university of hawaii who's been in the cave. apparently he
can't get in the cave anymore and nobody can unless you
spend years and years battling to make peace and the right
connections. when it was first discovered there was much
fear by the locals that it would be abused so there its now
tabu to even publish information on it, let alone go to it,
unless of course you aren't a haoli (outsider,
non-polynesian).

I guess I should have said: Do you partake in organized
religion, as that is VERY different from a personal
religion.

god and that I am god.

offline C738 from Outer Space on 2002-11-30 13:29 [#00462289]

I think having peace with who you are is the most
important.
I've come a long way for that, and I also have a long way to
go still.

Religion is trouble in my opinion. especially when 2
different religions collide.

I go to church every Sunday, because my family is religious
and it's not worth the hassle to get in a fight over not
going. It's just 40 minutes a week, I'll put up with it.

poor ophecks. My dad gave up on forcing me to goto church a
long time ago. I guess it was because my mom never went to
mass. :D

I used to believe in god and went to church with my parents.
I figured out that it didn't make sense when I was about 12
years old and didn't go to church anymore. A few years went
by and finally my parents were also totally fed up with
religion too.

I'm now actually more tollerant towards religion than my
parents, I think that's mainly because I've been out of it a
bit longer and I've set aside my hatred for it.

I now see religion as some kind of forced spirituality. I
don't need some guy or book telling me what's right and
wrong for me and how I should feel every week...

What about this?:
Not everyone can stand alone in this life and face all shit
you have to go through.
They have support, a big man in the sky being there for
them. Security, shelter, and also a nice set of holidays ; )

Mass Religion is a method of controlling the population. It
has caused virtually every war we have seen on this planet.

I used to teach in sunday school... and went to an Anglican
Church. Then I joined the Dark Side.

Religion does help some people cope with the stresses of
life, and for that it should be praised. I wish I believed
it would all be ok if I just pray hard enough... I really
do.

One can be religious without partaking in religion.
Solitary.

Indeed.

I don't believe there is a Church on earth that accurately
reflects the teachings of the bible...

YOu can be spiritual without religion, but you can't be
religious without believing in the fundamentals of a given
religion.

offline LuckyPsycho from a long way from home (United Kingdom) on 2002-12-02 09:20 [#00464638]
Points: 369 Status: Lurker | Followup to Ceri JC: #00464634

Thats because some/most/all of the teachings in the bible
are contradictory, outdated, offencive, and dumb

offline Ceri JC from Jefferson City (United States) on 2002-12-02 09:28 [#00464655]
Points: 23533 Status: Moderator | Followup to LuckyPsycho: #00464638 | Show recordbag

People always point out the bible as contradictory- surely
the most logical way to decide which to follow would be the
more recent one- the books are in it in date order after
all...
