Is "Surfing On Sine Waves" any good?

Because I got my cd shop to get it in for me. I'm going to
purchase it, but I haven't heard any songs from it.

its good... you should also pay attention to which version
your getting, theres an import that also includes bonus
tracks... thats a mistake i made hehe

it's good, old-style aphex. it's not drill n bass, or
anything like that. it's nice though. it's like dance music
for fat nerdy kids who play dungeons and dragons :)

i like it though.

The large majority of Aphex Twin is not Drill N' bass..
actually only like 1 album really is... er... Richard D.
James album, possibly the new one {havent downloaded it on
purpose}, and the Hangeable Auto Bulb EPs. Thats about it.
Everything else is different.

Surfing On Sine Waves has lots of signs of Acid wash
techno..... its good.

It's bouncy analogue techno... 808s and stuff... Anyway,
aren't there samples of SOSW on this site?

fuck yeah

it sounds alot like Ambient Works Vol One...with crazy
doomsday soundscapes...my mum described it as doomsday music
when i played it in the car.

Surfing On Sine Waves is decent, definitely not his best
work however, my favorite on that album is the last track,
the only ambient track on the album, better then alot of the
stuff on SAWII...

you must buy it if only for the pleasures of "Audax Powder"
which seems to summarize everything that is great about
early Aphex, and track 7, which is just so weird and funky
and beautiful...also the bonus track "portreath harbour" is
spooky with that thin off-key synth line that just seems to
get more out of tune as the track goes along...defiinitely
pick up the re-release if you can...
