I have a copy of a whitelabel vinyl
titeled "the aphex twin" it is etched 1992 on the vinyl.
there are 6 or 7 songs on it that are hard minimal techno.
it is definatly richard d james but ive never been able to
find any info on it. any ideas?

Did you happen to buy this off ebay a while back, say about
six months ago or so? I was in contact with the person
selling what you are describing, and I have some scans of it
as well that I haven't put up yet. As for what's on it, I
couldn't say, but I think it might be UI Blue or a BLUE CALX
test pressing.

BTW UI Blue is not aphex twin, although some copies were
printed with the words 'APHEX TWIN' on the label by the
distributor.

Why was that?.... why was RDJ's connection put with the Ui
series? as i know that he did some stuff on UI red... and
had something to do with UI green? what about blue and
yellow

Reflex: Think about it - would a blue record with no print
whatsoever sell better with "the aphex twin" printed on it?
Sure it would, at the time it came out, Richard's name was
good as gold (and still is). Mike Dred (aka Kosmik Kommando)
did UI Blue and Yellow, and Richard did Green and Red. Some
say Richard only did three tracks on Red, but only Richard
knows for sure :O]

Grant did the last two tracks on UI Green, the ones that are
on the 7".

RE: Blue(white)label: If you're sure it's Richard, what
tracks are they? I'd be curious to find out.
