WATMM-Who's the next legend?

Who do you think should be the next featured artist at
WATMM.com.
Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, U-Ziq?....
Id like to see Mr. Funk's ugly mug next to Richards.

sp is there already. i say mu-ziq, then luke vibert (not
that i'm a fan, he just deserves the spot).

i'd say µ-Ziq for sure. then maybe Amon Tobin? i dunno.
he's brilliant. but µ-Ziq next for sure.

Mu-Ziq, without a doubt. From there, it's a toss up...
Tobin, Plaid, Snares, Vibert... tough choice.

they talked abotu snares
and they all decided against it
yeah sure snares is the biggest thing atm
but he's not an accomplished artist and he only does the one
style and he hasnt been out for long enough basically.

i wouldn't really say one style...

most of his stuff is break core, but he had a lot of gabba
tracks too.

RE: one style
Yeeeeeah well I admit I haven't heard ALL that much snafres,
but I think most people would agree his music isn't as
diverse as the other artists on WATMM.....

And it shits me when I hear totally out of tune stuff in his
songs, so yeah.

But I still enjoy a lot of it.

I just don't think he's anywhere near the quality (urgh
tried to think of a better word but couldnt) of the other
featuired artists.

I would vote for uziq or someone even tho im not really into
uziq that much.

i would also say µ-ziq, but seriously, before another
artist is added, i think maybe it should be more focused on
making sure all the links work

i'm sick of the live sections laughing at me, taunting at
me!

"you can't click me, you can't click me"

i don't liek plaid much :(
but yeah i know a lto o ppl do so thats be ok i guess.

i reckon they should make an mc spatula section for a laugh
thatd be awesome!

i was chattgin to centurix and i almost got him to write "od
is a complete wanker" above the chat dialogue thnigy but he
wussed out!!!

"i reckon they should make an mc spatula section for a laugh

oh god no.... that kids ego is way to big as it is....
especially for the tracks he writes.......

a bogdan section would be neat..... or a luke vibert

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2002-11-11 22:38 [#00438078]
Points: 3803 Status: Regular

lol he doesn't have a big ego i dont think he's just really
silly.

i'm down with it :)

yeah i think vibert would be my vote now.
yes i changed my mind.

hahah how many ppl would complain if they did a kid606 one?
lol

i'm really into cex stuff atm too so that'd be dope, but
he's not really big enough, noimsayin?
ans he orready has all the needed shit on his site.

mu-ziq for sure

brian eno? the king of ambient
jega? good music
snares? yeah

offline Mickey Mouse from The Moon on 2002-11-11 22:42 [#00438084]

yes cex is really sound.... I dont know why everyone gets
mad when they hear the name kid606.... I like some of his
releases... I dont understand why people go off on him so
much.

but I think joyrex should finish his other artist sections
before he starts on another one.

yeah i dont think watmm even needs any more artists, im just
musing over it.

i dont think astrobotnia have been about long enough to
really prove it...

hee i think ppl get mad at 606 coz he has a bit f an
attitude and cex coz cex bashes all the other artists about
being "fake and mysterious and not talking to fans" i tested
hmi on this by emailing him and he totally emialed back and
shit so at least i know he cares.
he's also fucking funny.

yea, Cex is a GREAT guy, he came through with the Tiger Beat
6 north american tour last friday, filmed his entire set,
got to talk to him for about a half hour after the show, and
he gave me his new CD for free. Cex - tall, dark, and
handcuffed, it kicks ass, BUY IT!

I saw cex in san diego last year, he was a really nice guy,
and I got to talk to him a bit, He mc'ed a lot in that
show... it was really good. But he still looked like a
computer nerd rapping..hehe... I think I am going to get
tall dark and handcuffed whenever I go out next...

yeah he had an interlude where he said that it was fly to be
regular and be real.. it was pretty cool

He didnt play the song enter carter though when I saw him...
that song is funny stuff:.... wierd things need pictures of
them... as proof .. that their wierd.. the pictures will in
turn make people think differently about scociaty and the
world... haha.... There is a live set on his site thats
really funny too... its the song : whats my name.. by dmx.
And he says: WHATS MY NAME......... and when those three
beat hits came in .... C.... E..... X

It's the funniest thing, he really is a good entertainer

i'd say µ-ziq deserves a spot.. it would make it so the
site isnt completely warp-centric... then maybe plaid..
because they've been around as long as aphex and ae.. and
have been pretty consistant as far as quality goes

maybe there could be a general section..that isnt devoted to
a single artist but any number of artists within the genre

..i dont know why i'm making suggestions... i havent even
been to watmm in months..
hell, until last week i hadnt been to this site in a few
months

after we finish what we have now and get the AE section up
and running.

Why are we discussing watmm here? LOL

that's the problem. they are consistent because they are not
as adventurous with their music, it all sounds too similar.
