I just finished a book whose name I can't relinquish because
its of too embarrassing a subject. However, I just started
On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee.

Amazon.com wrote:

"To solve the case, Kovacs must destroy his former Envoy
enemies; outwit Bancroft's seductive, wily wife; dabble in
United Nations politics; trust an AI that projects itself
in the form of Jimi Hendrix

not really mindbending and the dialogue is pretty thin but
its a good atmosphere and the subject matter is dope

The reviews HAVE been good from what I've read, and the
subject matter seems pretty cool. But dude, what is all that
hendrix stuff about, c'mon.

the story behind it is what's really good

------------------------SPOILERS--------------------

the A.I. that controlled the 'automated' hotel became
sentient and bought itself from corporate ownership

i think my housemate may have backwards somewhere too
- he originally told me it was in this omnibus edition -
i'll be sure to give a read.

the tv episode of backwards really messes me up, i do
actually start thinking backwards - it's very disconcerting.
was it Doug Naylor who created the last few awful series of
the tv programme?

Rob Grant left after series six, yeah. Series 7 is an
experiment gone badly wrong. Season 8 is really not that
bad--when I bought it on DVD and watched, I was left wanting
more. Maybe the film that's been in the pipeline for over a
decade (and is the reason for the Series 7 experiment) will
finally get made. Hell, there's finally a Simpsons film
coming out!
