...things to sample for a song. Oh look, it's a topic about music! How rare nowadays!
1) explosion 2) power drill 3) voice 4) sex noises 5) cars driving past 6) broken machine 7) footsteps 8) the sea 9) banging something with a pan 10) mobile phone

i've sampled the sweet lucious moaning of lesbians from porn in a song before.
its fun to sample shit from things like porn and manipulate to a point where its somewhat recognizable but you can't quite put your finger on where its source is...
so people listen to it and its almost like an inside joke. "heh, these people are listening to a song with a sample of the sound of me masturbating and they don't even know it!"
not that i've actually done that..or anything..but um

I was thinking of getting a minidisc or something that I can take around with me to record things. I have so many fascinating conversations with people and it'd be cool to put it in my songs.

That's easy...
1)R3fl3x talking saying "incredibly gay" 2)R3fl3x singing "dooh, dah" 3)R3fl3x talking to a wall 4)R3fl3x talking to an alarm clock 5)R3fl3x talking about the "greatness" of Bush 6)R3fl3x touching Graham's back 7)R3fl3x chanting on the side-lines 8)R3fl3x, the sound of him typing "I've been here since the begining...."
9)R3fl3x "eating" soup 10)R3fl3x licking the cheek of a homeless man, the sound of.
It's going to be called "R3fl3x:I aint done nothing wrong"

yeah thats fun to do. i set up a mic and recorded an hour long convo between me and two friends into my comp then spliced up phrases into different order and restructured words and sentenced. i believe its called the cut-up technique. william burroughs was big into it.

If you like the cut-up technique, try listening to 'Bishop's lips' by Chris Morris. He took the prayer from Princess Diana's funeral and edited it to sound like something really funny.
