it seems kinda silly to come here and say stuff like that
1,5 years after it was released.

did it take that long to form an opinion??

And "Songs about my Cats" is amazing...I mean I was not
totally sold on VSnares earlier albums..but Songs..is damn
convincing of a talent to be reckoned with...

I'm one of those people that hates Confield. I persevered
with that album for ages but it just didn't click.

I'm jealous of people who do like it because they are
obviously seeing something I'm not...

Maybe it's like those 3D stereogram pictures of the 90s...
some people can see them, other people just see dots.

'Naming it emotionally-detatched is just emberassing'

No, what's emberassing is the contempt 'IDM' fans have for
people who don't really like the genre. Look, I'll try to be
fair about this because I'm a reasonable guy(although that's
probably regarded as a serious crime on this message board).
Confield is very impressive technically but emotionally it's
nothing. Maybe once I've developed a superiority complex
I'll learn to appreciate it.

And I don't hate all 'IDM'. My personal favourites include
Geogaddi, ICBYD, SAW85-92 and Drukqs.

nothing for you emotionally.

I honestly believe that Confield is the best album I've ever
heard. I thought it was fucking amazing the day I first
bought it. (Strangely enough, it was the first ae album I
bought). I am definitely not pretending when I say that I
love it.
I really don't know what you mean by 'emotionally detached'.
I think that it has a hell of a lot of emotion in it.

Songs About My Cats is a bit poo. I think some Venetian
Snares is excellent though

I think that Confield is the most amazing album I've ever
heard.
I don't find it 'emotionally detached' at all.
I am definitely not pretending.

Also, some Venetian Snares' stuff is incredible

confield is quite good... still not that fond of Bine, and
the last track is a bit too long... but overall, it's pretty
awesome!

Confield used to be the only thing i listened to 2 years
ago. i tried listening to the first 4 trax yesterday but it
made me sleepy. i still like VI Scose Poise tho.

i prefer Draft 7.30 these days.

I haven't had it very long...very difficult album! But I
loved tracks 1 and 3 instantly.

I was at first pissed off by this topic, but now I think I
would like these threads if people started them better. The
whole "{insert controversial album here} sucks" is stupid
and I cant possibly see how you wouldn't expect an argument.
I hated Confield when it first came out too. Now I rate it
highly. Listen to Pen Expers. Listen to it loud. (I mean
REALLY loud!) That song has soooooo much emotion to me.
Gantz Graf as well. Gantz has a part around the end where
to me, I honestly feel sad because this one "whiny" melody
seems to be "crying". I just love this stuff, I sure as fuck
am not "faking it". Draft tho... is the only autechre
release ive failed to get a grip on. =( i dunno, i respect
it tho.
ok, i'm babbling... buh bye =)

i'm not a big autechre fan but i'm starting to appriciate
them more. I've said bad things about confield before, but
honestly i like a couple of tracks there like VI Scose Poise
(my fav.) and Uviol. But other than those tracks, confield
doesn't do much for me emotionally. But that's just my
opinion

::shrugs::

telling people that confield sucks just to spite isnt going
to solve anything except give you temporary satisfaction.

why do you care what others think? if you dont like it,
thats fine. im not launching war on what you like, because i
couldnt give a shit. why do you?

saying confield is "unemotional", while it may be true to
you, may not be for someone else. are you one of those
people who think there are static good and bads? do you
follow strict music theory? sorry, i didnt know i had to
follow rules to enjoy things. its not fucking superiority as
you call it. hell, you are just as worse for starting this
god awful topic, that gets started by countless people just
like you who say the exact same thing. what makes you any
different from the people you say have this superiority
complex? look at this stupid topic you started.

ive taken theory and it really hasnt changed my views on
music either. i still like confield. i dont care if you
dont. you shouldnt care if i like it. and no, this is NOT
better than the constant "liking" of autechre/etc. you would
seriously rather everyone argue like idiots? wow, we dont
get enough of that on the internet.

but, whatever. if you want to act like an asshole just to
spite, go for it. chances are you have a witty reply for
this message. or maybe you will try to justify your
position. or maybe you will flat out say it sucks and thats
that. or youll say i suck.

either way, its stupid

i don't really like confield much. it has just never 'done
it' for me. i do, however, really like draft 730. after
listening to it on headphones, i fell in love with it. i
have not given confield a good headphone listen yet. perhaps
that will change my mind.

but not you or that guy over there.
or that guy.

but yes, some of those guys up there suck too.

and if i know one thing. it's that this album, but not that
one, also sucks.

and that thing is heavy handed, obtuse garbage, bearly worth

but this one's alright though.
and that one, sometimes, depending on what i had for lunch.

i enjoy Confield thank you very much!

Confield is one of those albums you have to be in a specific
state to listen to: its good background music, but not
something you'd jam while playing video games.

I've had some good meditative rest to that album. It's an
album for pondering.

I'm going to make a point of never buying any of Aphex
Twin's music anymore.
I think he's a selfish, money grabbing tosser.
I saw him at Glastonbury and he was just taking the piss
playing utter utter shite.
People were shouting "come on, where are the beats" and you
could just see him hiding under his laptop like a fucking
pussy laughing his face off.
