A conversation I had with a store assistant at this really
crappy shop called Leading Edge Music...

Me: Hi, do you have Windowlicker by Aphex Twin?

Store Assistant: Is it in the Top 30?

Me: It was in the UK, but I don't think so here.

Store Assistant: Than we don't have it.

Sainty, a big music chain here is a littler better.

Me: Do you have any Aphex Twin?

Sanity: Not here, but we do on our website. If you like we
can order it for you.

Currently the only have 51/13 :-(

I've brought ALL my Aphex Twin CD's online.

borders bookstores have a good selection of music. aphex
twin, squarepusher, boards of canada, plaid, autechre. i
have bought two cd's from shops: sawII from hastings music
store chain, saw 85-91 from a local shop. i get my cd's from
the local shop, but he has to order them from the net.

Though hmv.com.au have a few Aphex titles.

They have 98-92 for about $30 (AUS)

And I'll get AB from them soon too, which is about $25 AUS.

Super Magnetic Neo from Australia on 2001-08-24 16:43 [#00025443]

85-92 not 98-92 :-)

chaosmachine from toronto on 2001-08-24 16:43 [#00025444]

i've been able to buy windowlicker, come to daddy, saw1, and
saw 2, all right from the shelf at the music store. that was
when i was living in the US (new hampshire). i'm hoping
drukqs will be easy to come by, here in toronto..

cdnow.com has a good amount of aphex twin. and of course
there'e warprecords.com.

Super Magnetic Neo from Australia on 2001-08-24 16:47 [#00025446]

Yeah, cdnow.com is good. I got ICBYD from 'em.

melbourne from nouvelle zelande on 2001-08-24 16:48 [#00025447]

I live in auckland in New Zealand, and although you get your
generic "top of the pops" stores, there are a significant
amount of stores that at least stock SAWII, ICBYD, and maybe
like ambient 85-92

However, shops such as real groovy usually offer most of the
selection, although admittedly it did take about 6 months
for them to import the Donkey Rhubarb EP. However not as
dire as melbourne seems to be ?? strange.

Try Smokecds.com

Although they only have 3 aphex cds listed, if you request
they are pretty good at finding stuff at a reasonable
price.

Chaosmachine: Should be in Toronto! yea! I bet you'll know
where to look so they'll have it!

All: It's Just I've bought ALL of my Aphex CDs from my HMV
in Swindon! I knew it was rare but I obviously didnt know
the whole truth! I've got SAW 1, SAW 2, Power Pill, I Care,
RDJ, Come to Daddy and Windowlicker and every time I get a
CD, they pretty much replace it with some others within a
week! They've got some of the window CDs ( Caustic ) in now
so I think Im gonna make a lil trip! ^_^

Hey thanks, I'll check em out.

The CBD of Melbourne would have heaps probably, I know there
is this store that stock heaps of stuff like Aphex, Mouse on
Mars ect, but I hardly ever go into the city. I'm out in the
"Limb Bizkit are the greatest band ever" suburbs :-)

H3XAN3 from Melbourne on 2001-08-24 16:58 [#00025451]

Neo> i know that JB in CBD always stocks a fair amount of
aphex and squarepusher, but never autechre it seems...

Super Magnetic Neo from Australia on 2001-08-24 17:31 [#00025454]

JB, as in JB Hi-Fi right?

There's one pretty close to me, I'll call them today,
hopefully they are stocked somewhat like the CDB store.
Thanks.

evolume from seattle, washington, usa on 2001-08-24 18:02 [#00025461]

i do most of my shopping in seattle at orpheum on broadway
and platinum records.
in vancouver b.c. there is a couple good places too. zulu
records is one and they usually got good shite.
in sanfrancisco CA there is this kick ass bowling alley size
store with an experimental section that is about 30 feet
long. its called amoeba records and its by the mcdonalds by
UCSF.

João Evangelista from Portugal on 2001-08-24 18:21 [#00025462]

They're all available at some shops in Lisbon (that's where
I've bought mine), except the rare ones such as HAB 1 & 2,
and some AB. All his other releases haven't been that hard
to find. Most of them have cost around €17 (usual CD
price)

reduced on 2001-08-24 20:28 [#00025477]
