I just realised I hadn't made/seen a thread about this.
Death In Vegas' new album "Scorpio Rising" is great. Even
the Liam Gallagher and Paul Weller collaborations are
tolerable. It's a lot more "real" sounding than their other
albums (less synths, more proper instruments) and there are
a few real gems on the album, diving horses and hands around
my throat being the best.

Anyone else here heard it (I remember very few people
outside of the UK had heard of them last time I brought the
subject up) if so, what do you think?

i remember they put out a white label called "scorpio" a
year ago and it was really techno...

I liked The Contino Sessions, I don't like what I've heard
so far of Scorpio Rising.
I'll probably still buy it though...

"Scorpio" is a C side to Hands around my throat CD 1.

Doctorvee, I didn't think it was too great at first, but
it's definately a "grower".

OH how i laugh. They´re playing tomorow nite in dublin
supported by Andrew Weatherall and i just heard i´m going
for free!!

Full review Friday..... if i make it into work. i don´t
know much of their stuff..... its pretty dancy ain´t it....
commercial like? i just hope there is live bongos and plenty
of visuals and AW should prove pretty stomping anyway.... oh
yes

Death In Vegas kick ass.
The new album is definitely their best, but the single Hands
Around My Throat is my least favorite track... seems like
they're clinging to the electro trend.

"Dirt" is still one of my alltime favorite videos. I think
D.I.V. is a very underated band

There'll be lots of visuals probably, fearless is dead into
that. Me & Jonesy are going to see them next week in
Bristol.

Not dancey or commercial. They started off quite dubby and
then rockier and quite dark.

You may be thinking of Dirty Vegas.

Yep, I think that's such a rip-off name. DJs always get them
mixed up...
