I love Radiohead's Peel Sessions. And Led Zeppelin's Live at
the BBC (same as the Peel Sessions? Well, same idea) are
fucking rocking.

I will buy it as soon as i get my new credit card no doubt.
I love it.

Ophecks::I see what you are saying.
And me to would like a new Alberto
But 50% of me has always been innit for the crazy innovating
sounds and whicked effects. (whait til you hear MY music
haha!)
And i think it's time Aphex really show what he's made of.
Each to his own right ? =)

Ack! I thought Peel Sessions and BBC Sessions were one and
the same... well, their ''BBC Evening Sessions'' are dang
good! I love the big rock out at the end of Talk Show Host,
better than the original.

i agree.. also really good are the additional radio bleeps
at the beginning of climbing up the walls, and from the 2nd
session the live band version of everything in its right
place and fucked up version of how to disappear

my problem was that you generalized that if somone didn't
like SP's new album it must be because they were the "idm
snobs" you defined so accurately (and yeah i dont disagree
with you that they do exist and there are quite a few of
them on the board)

if you didn't do so intentionally you certainly conveyed
that idea quite clearly

and yes i realize you obviously didn't mean that every
single person who didn't like DYKS was like that

but the assumption that if one shares that opinion they are
'idm snobs', or cant handle the change of an artist should
be objectionable to every intelligent music fan of that
opinion
im surprised that i was the only one to say anything in
response, and that so few people agreed with me

and the belief that those who disagree with you are probably
unsophisticated, stupid or uncultured... and that your
opinion on a subjective matter must be more correct because
you appreciate and know about soo much music seems like
eletism to me

no offesnse titsworth: i usually have a lot of respect for
you and your posts

....and just for the record, i dont think DYKS is bad at
all.....

it takes a while to get into (longer than Confield, for
me).... but i think its definitely appreciatable without a
degree in the history of contemporary music

...just like Go Plastic before it, and Confield from
Autechre..

...great music can stand on its own

true, cultural references can add to it, but shouldn't be
(and if the music really is great isn't) neccessary for
enjoyment...

IMHO anyway...

or he's just taking the piss out of him self, so that all
you people here will argue about him so him and richard can
read this later and laugh at the insanty of people argueing
about nothing at all.

and all his records are great in there own way.

i definitely think you're seeing a LOT more into my
one-sentence, off-the-cuff remark than intended. did you
read my subsequent posts? my intent has never been to be as
dismissive of people who dislike the new album as you claim
i am. sorry you think that way but it's definitely not how i
feel about it.

zeus: shush! no one needs a yes-man, you've done that twice
now.
